Zaino clay (although I gotta say there are all pretty much the same)

Had a problem with Meguiars clay - it became very mushy when I used too much lube.

I've tried them both and I think they're equal, the only advantage Clay magic has is that's it's usually a few dollars cheaper

There are only a couple manufactures of clay and patents protect the technology, with some subtle difference in consistency and firmness. A recent court hearing found components of the “elastic clay” is a patent infringement and the judge ordered sale of the product to be halted. As a result, all of the plastic clay being manufactured now comes from the same factory in Japan.

In general, softer clays are safer and easier to use, firmer clay cleans better with a little more risk of scuffing or scratching There are many variations in the formula, the two technologies are "plastic" and "elastic", and there are patents on each, that have been challenged by each patent holder, When used correctly, the final result is the same with both plastic and elastic formulations.

On that basis my vote would have to go to Magic clay

I have used Meguires, Mothers and Clay Magic. I definitly prefer clay magic since it seems to be more pliable which makes it easier to reshape. Its also the cheapest at my local autozone which doesnt hurt either.

Having used both, I'd give the nod to Clay Magic for sure. The supplies lube is more than enough for 1 clay sesson.

Sorry folks but can someone tell me what the clay bar is used for and what are the benefits of using one. And should everyone be using one. I thought washing and waxing is good enough???

All clay is basically the same as their are I think now only 2 makers of clay bars.

My personal favorite is Meguiars Mild (i think they produce their independently).

but clay magic and mothers also work great
