ArmorAll extreme shield wax/junk!

So I heard a ton of hype behind armoral's extreme shiel wax. I watched the videos on youtube as well. I have heard a ton of products claiming to bead better than any other wax, replel dirt, dust, bugs etc. they have all failed but this one takes the cake. In the youtube video they show a mustang. The hood is taped down the middle and "convential wax" is on the left, armoral's exteeme shield on the right. They wax it then spray it down. The water stays on the convential wax and beads a little, armorals magically falls off. They then drive it and get it dusty and rinse it off. The dirt disapears like magic. They did the sams with mud, same deal.

Facts:
This armoral extreme shield does none of what it claims any. It is actually WORSE than any other wax I have ever used. Instead of making the car smooth, it feels like it strips any wax that was on the car off. Leaving a sticky finish. I tried the beading test. The water stays on the car and does not bead off at all like "convential wax". I contacted armoral to tell them this. Still waiting a reply. I am so pissed I requested all my money back. All and all it is an awful product. It is not a breakthrough so save your money or buyer beware. I an an experience detailer and have used everything but this is truly the worst!

Sounds like the "conventional wax" side was the Armor All Extreme Shield and the supposed "Armor All Shielded Side" was probably like Swissvax Crystal Rock or something ahah

Its called marketing .. and 99% of the average guys that wax thier cars once a year would never do a side by side to prove it wrong.

Don't worry. As far as I can tell pretty much everyone here knows that if it says Armour All on the label, find something else.

Well I don't go that far ... there is a few products I use from them that are equal to or better than other products.

I agree. The original armoral protectant is good on tires and interiors but its a little smudgy. That is about it. I tried it because of the hype. I figured why not? But really it is the worst stuff ive ever used. I could not beleive how unsmooth it made my car. Almost like a crappy sealant. It made the paint rough and sticky feeling. Its not like I don't know what im doing either. This stuff is made for amateurs. You wipe it on and wipe it off. It is really weird stuff, it is really think liquid so it goes on almost like water, if you don't wile it within a minute it is sticky and hard to get off. Just crap so trust me when I say DO NOT BUY IT! Lol

They have been around for 50 years and still make below average products. It boggles my mind. Meguiars keepsgl hetting better and better and advancing creating new products, these guys make a few new products, hype them up, they fail and then end up on the clearance rack at wal mart. GET YOUR SHIT RIGHT ARMORAL!

Forget about the name on the label, but would any of you REALLY buy into this kind of mass-market hype?

If so, ....

It's bad enough we get sucked in my more .... subtle .... pitches by other OTC manufacturers (Megs, Mothers, etc).

I wont use TW either....

I use Megs for a few things, but not everything. Same with Mothers.

Id much rather use Menzerna/Optimum/Chemical Guys though.

I asked for a refund for the entire product, that is how pissed I was. I let them know it was an awful product. I just received my $15 refund in the mail. Trust me. DO NOT BUY THIS!

On the Other Hand...

I have just tried this stuff, WITH a side by side, and...it works!

Yes, it leaves a "sticky" surface. But, this is not a wax! if your familiar with hydrophobic surfaces, this is not unusual.

As for clean, stuff works. It does keep cleaner than wax. Not a miracle worker, but it IS better. Combine that with the ease of putting this stuff on, and NO WHITE STUFF, well, with a black car, I'm sold!

As for beading, good at first, then not so good, just like anything else. But one thing I noticed: when washing the car, the untreated surfaces soaped up as usual. BUT, the treated sufaces, well, my brush just fell off my hood! The soap just would not stick to the hood, like it couldn't find a purchase. Would not soap up. Still clean, though.

I don't like Armor All products, usually. This one is a winner.

they were successful because 50 years ago, cars had vinyl interior and people didnt know any better. they think shiny = clean.

it doesnt take much to take care of vinyl. just something that has some sort of oil in it. lol.

armor all is garbage. i wouldnt even use that stuff on my tires. it flings all over the fenders and you have to wash your car again.

stick with boutique products imo. youre paying a little more but youre getting a lot better quality.

waxes, i use do do juice products. they are GREAT. awesome protection and lasts a decent amount of time. i also use a sealant under the wax.
