What type of 3mm tape do the lip kits come with. I have to re-install my rear lip which has come loose. I used reg. double sided 3M tape but it didn't hold. So, I'm looking for the heavy duty stuff the dealers use. Any know?

 

More then likely, VHB. (very high bond)

No, thats a industrial type two sided tape. They actually use it for glass paynes....

 

3M tape is 3M tape .. its a brand name ... there is also a lot of other brands out there .... usually if it doesn't bond its an issue with the surface being not prepped.

The surfaces should be free of oils, waxes etc. Wipe the area down really well with Rubbing Alcohol to remove anything that might affect the bonding surfaces. Apply above the minimum temperature.

 

I should have clarified. VHB is made by 3M.

 

Lol my post wasn't directed at yours .. more at the OPs 3mm .. even a lot of branded tapes are made by 3M

 

If it aint made by 3M, its probably no good anyway!
Stay away from the $.99 store double sided tapes......
