4th Gen bumper on '08 TL Type-S?
Hey guys I recently saw a beautiful TL with what looks like a 4th gen front bumper swap. I was just wondering if anybody has done this and if so what kind of fitment issues and what not they ran into. I tried doing a search but couldnt find anything, if there is already a thread on this a link is fine if not then I guess here is a cool new mod people can try.
(not sure whose car it is though)
(looks really clean)

its a "retrofrankenstien" bumper.
some one joined two halves together. first i'm seeing of this.
but I can tell that the top part of the bumper is our original, then it either is cut or some one molded the 4G bottom half to it.
that might even be the "aero" kit for the 4G molded onto the 3G bumper

I saw this recently on IG, I follow the guy. He did some clean work. He molded the lower portion of a 2012 bumper with the upper portion of a 3g TL bumper, used bondo, etc to get it smooth, then added all the 4g lower grill bits and underspoiler on either side. Its doable. The only issues I could see were how to attach the bumper on the bottom since our 3Gs have bolts and clips underneath. But I suppose that could be figured out.
quoted from my progress thread below:
I saw this on IG and was thinking of getting it done on my car. Top part of bumper is obviously stock, but this guy molded the lower foglight portion of a 4g 2012 TL bumper to his OEM one and installed 4G foglights and oem front lip onto it. I think it looks awesome and wanted to do something similar originally. But with the amount of parts I'd have to buy including the foglights, aspec, sourcing a used OEM 2012 bumper, etc etc I realized it would just be too much right now.
Here is what it looked like. The car has also been plastidipped blue AFAIK. The guy really did some amazing work I think.
