"Make it stop!! Make it stop!!" the young lady screams out. Finally, the young lad rolls over and says, "Hello?"

Don't forget, tomorrow we have to finish beating the road and highway commisioner senseless, because putting speedbumps the size of Yokozuna's legs in shopping centers is getting a little tacty.
Day 1
So, Tiffany and I left Austin November 1st at 6pm. We arrived in San Francisco at about 11 that night-only to wait an hour for the Hotel shuttle bus-which turned out to take us to the wrong hotel
So, after about 2 hours, we finally get to our hotel and check in. We are both exhuasted and ready for bed-but I am not feeling well and can't sleep for shit-just wonderful. This trip is already starting to suck and we haven't even left the USA.
Anyways, we wake up the next morning and trek to the airport. Man, the international terminal is sooooo much nicer than the domestic terminal!! Anyways, we jump on the plane, and as soon as the stewerdess comes to us, we start drinking like the world is going to end tomorrow!! By the time the flight landed, we had probably drank at least two bottles of wine each-we were a little excited
So, after a plane change in Japan-we finally arrive in Shanghai, China. After collecting our bags, and going through customs, we meet our guide Chris, who really doesn't know anything
We ask him what the weather is supposed to be like tomorrow, he says, "Oh, it will be beautifull, do not worry." It rained the entire day. It was a very good thing that we decided not to have a guided tour through Shanghai.
Anyways, the next day, we awake and have a wonderful breakfast, fully rested, and ready to take on the day. We decide to stay in the old part of Shanghai today and explore the bund, the Yu Yuan Gardens, and whatever else there is to see. First, we walked over to the bund:

This shot shows the Pudong side of Shanghai, and the Pearl TV tower (Chris loved this and would not stop talking about it)

The main attraction to the bund is all of the old government buildings such as banks, halls, etc. Most of the buildings had been restored and were now hotels, musuems, etc.
After seeing what there was to see, we continued down the river venturing into the city. It is amazing how many bikes there actually are-there are millions of them!!

After wading through the millions of bikes and scooters, we arrive at the Yu Yuan garden, which turns out to be what we now know as the "Hello, Hello" market-whenever you walk by a storefront, everyone screams out, "Hello, Hello, look here. Good Prices. I give you friend discount. Just look!!"

Well, Tiffany hates the damn market, so we continue on and find this neat little public garden.

While meandering through the garden, we stop in an old tea house and have our first chinese tea, which was also our most expensive

They have a buddha in the tea house, so Tiffany has to rub it for good luck!

After having our tea, we walk half way around the world, at least that is what it felt like, just to see another damn market-which only pisses Tiffany off-but she is the one who wanted to see it!!
Anyways, after walking back, we meet up with her friend from college, Chris-not our guide. We end up having an excellent dinner with him and his girlfriend, which cost about $3 for all of us!! Afterwards, we go out and drink the night away with some work buddies of his swaping stories of previous travels etc. What a night!!

Day 2
After recovering from our previous night's debauchery
(I wish!!) we awake to a beautifull sunny day and decide to explore the new part of Shanghai, Pudong. We managed to figure out the subway the day before, so we now use it for our primary mode of transportation because it only costs less than $.30 to go wherever you want to go!
Anyways, we jump on the subway, go under the river, and pop up to some of the most amazing architecture I have seen (which is probably all ripped from some other cities
)

And of course, our guide Chris' favorite feature of Shanghai, the Pearl TV tower:

Right next to the TV tower, there is an aquarium-so we decide to spend the 10 bucks and see what the have to see.
The first thing we see is a giant christmas tree made entirely out of pepsi cans (EVERYTHING is sponsored in china-even the fishies)

There main exhibit this time of year is sharks, and you can pet them, so Tiffany does it first-ladies first right??

Some cool shark eggs (I always thought sharks gave live birth
)
