no unfortunitaly its true Trey man. Just as custer, ATX, and KaM have pointed out. Used cars already have depreciated. My car lost a shitload of its value the moment I drove it off the lot. That is exactly why they offer gap insurance. I didnt need it because I put such a large down payment. So Im just glad that I have a 33K car with a monthly payment under 400/month. I also still have some equity in it. But that will go down with the value as well. Just like custer stated, I plan keeping my car for 5 years so I will be okay, and I hope then it will still have some value to it.

I guess depreciation also depends on the demand for the car. I saw a '98 Supra for sale with 35K miles and they wanted $45,000 for it!! Damn!! I can't imagine spending 45K on a 8 year old car, even if it is a twin turbo Supra! What do those things have, like 400 whp??

Oh, and yeah, I too would like to be able to buy new, cause damn, is that new car smell awesome in the S2k!

However, I would rather a newer car sooner, so it makes more sense for me to have someone else take the hit on depreciation. Plus, yeah, I would rather have the peace of mind of buying a new car knowing that no-one else ragged on my baby, but as long as the car is super clean, no door-dings or scratches at all, then I will buy it knowing that I have a warranty should a problem arrise.

So, when I buy used, I basically search the world over for that rare cream-puff looking car.

Yeah, saw that earlier. They have those types of toilets all along the rest stops in France. Good thing I never had to use one.

well if u decide to go to china, alot of the bathrooms there are alredy updated as long as u stay in the city.. all major restuarants that you would eat at would have updated facilities for u to use... vietnam and bangkok however will depend... probably only your hotel will have a proper bathroom... how much money u plan on bringing???

u will get the best bank for your buck in Vietnam where the exchange rate is $1 USD to 15,000.... thailand is about 1to36.. and if i remember correctly china and hk is 1to about 1.19... most expensive would be HK and of course japan... i never been to korea so i wouldn't know...

if u do decide to go somewhere in southeast asia.. remember that right now is monsoon season... so if u gonna go u should wait till december to go... or its a waste and it will be raining everyday so no point in going... in china and japa, their seasons run just like ours.. so it will be cold there when u go... hope that helped u out alot...

personally if i were u and taking a female there i would go to shanghai... its a beautiful city with lots of places to go and lots of sights to see... its not expensive and u two can go shopping for stuff that is really cheap... and if she pisses u off, give me a call and ill teach u how to say strip club in chinese, or viet if u decide to go to vietnam...

good luck bro...

oh yeah just remembered 2 wks may not be enough... u may wanna see if u can stay 2.5-3 wks... cause remember the flight is gonna be at least 15 hrs + depending where u decide to go... japan is 13hrs, china is about 16, VN is 22, and singapore is about 26 depending on which way they fly....

i would think china is the best place because it is the biggest tourist spot in china... japan really don't like outsiders (im chinese and sorta look like them and they still hate me and give me dirty looks) VN, if u don't go with someone who knows the area, you will prob get robbed/scammed... singapore is nice but expensive but everyone speaks english... just make sure u don't spit on the groundm, flush all the toilets and put all gum in the trash or u WILL get arressted... so yeah CHINA!!! lolz...

if u r a history buff, then go to beijing... u can see a wonder of the world and climb the great wall.. u can learn the history of one of the oldest countries in existent and see how kings lived...

HK is nice but still scared of because there are alot of places around HK where its gang controlled..

so it brings me back to shanghai... very nice area that is developed and cultural at the same time... can't go wrong..

oh yeah no matter where u decide to go, make sure u get vaccinated before u go.. hepatitis shot... i say that because u don't want to risk eating food that is not totally clean and u stick in ur hotel with the runs.. especially if u have a weak stomach... addt'l i would only eat chicken if u r in a nice restaurant... otherwise pick something else (beef, fish, pork) remember advian bird flu is still lurking around...

fyi.. my dad just left for VN last nite.. go say hi to him lolz!!!
