210hp on the forester... If that's what you want to think that is written on their paper. :dog:

Hey, I might be able to make the meet--50/50 but I am working on increasing the odds! My fiancee and I are building a house and she is focused on the design studio (colors, upgrades, etc) so I would be coming over from there if I can...

Are Subies known for underrating or overrating their BHP?

Hope to see you there. Maybe you can learn the proper Acurazine Meet Handshake.

I have been practicing in front of a mirror always asking myself "WWMD"? (what would Mantis do?)

My hope is that you guys have a few beers in you by the time I get there so my handshake looks as attractive as that chick in the booth is starting to look too Mantis!!!

I'm not sure about this one--except that I dyno'd my STi (claimed 300 hp/ 300tq crank) and put down 276 hp and 290 tq AT THE WHEELS with no physical upgrades (just ecu tuning--but that does include a little more boost)!!!

What are you putting down now? You dyno the beast since you mega-modded?

That is it. My next mod is a turbo back exhaust which should put out the crank equiv. of 345 hp and 385 tq (not sure what that will be at the wheels). Woo whoo!!!

There is a 12-15% loss of power between crank and wheels... So 293.5hp at the ground at worse...that can still do some damage.

Who's psyched for Thursday?!?!

Some folks were thinking of taking a cruise down to Cresson to check out the cars at Motorsport Ranch either Saturday or Sunday. I don't know if it is still on or not...

Cresson, Texas (link to map if I did this right!)

Just south past the town of Cresson (between Benbrook and Grandbury), is Motorsport Ranch. It is on the east side of the road just before the highway divides after you go through town. Not much markings. At the gate, you have to sign in. Tell them you are visiting one of the drivers, John in the #66 black STi. Drive slowly through the compound--they get pissed if folks go too fast. Mantis, you have done this before--you know the drill.

Let me know if anyone thinks they can make it!

We do four twenty minute runs a day in each run group (generally as follow: novice, intermediate, advanced, club racer, instructor). Two before lunch and two after lunch. They are all fun to watch but mostly walking around the paddock is the attraction. During lunch, they often do a parade lap where you can drive the track (slowly), which is fun to see it up close--it is an interesting perspective. Lunch is around noon but folks eat before/after depending on their run group (I always have to go fill up due to large fuel consumption--9 miles per gallon on race weekends). No time is better/worse, really, execpt for the parade laps if that is interesting to you.

You probably chew thru tires and brake pads pretty quick on these days, huh.

A set of tires lasts about 4-6 weekends (or about 12-16 hours of driving). Brakes last two weekends (6 hours of driving) if you use track pads, one weekend if you use street pads (3 hours of driving). Plus you have to flush the brake system after every second event.

It uses up the mods budget in a hurry...
