I've found the cure for the "new car bug". It's the motorcycle bug!

I don't have one yet, but getting one is all I can think about right now. So be on the lookout for a 2001+ Honda CBR600 cause I need one!

I went and test rode one the other day and loved it, but the guy wouldn't come down on the price enough for me. I'm trying to find one in the $4-5K range. Anyone got any tips or know good places to look?

I don't know of a place to get one, but I'll keep my eyes open.

I don't have enough common sense to own a bike. I'd seriously injure myself in less than a month.

windshield alone is ~500
my deductible is 500.

hey danny, one word of advice... don't buy a used bike. you never know what can fail and how well it's been maintained. i wouldn't want to see your brakes lock up at 50 mph catapulting you through the front, buy a cheaper bike but new...you'll still get the same thrills, trust me. it's not like you're gonna be going 170+ all the time.

drew, i can't make it to plano this week. take pics man.

that's funny, you're the first person that's said don't buy a used bike. Everyone else has been telling me to get a used bike cause I'm gonna drop it. I don't think I can afford the bike I want if it's new though. If I do get a used one I'm definitely going to get it checked out.

I think everyone else is right. You do want to buy a used bike. Ask if you or them (the seller) can take the bike here Sabin Performance. They do good work there. Actually stop by, because they usually have some used bikes for sale. It's worth the $25-50 bucks to get the bike looked at and find out what needs to be repaired. To bad your not looking for an 01 GSXR 750, b/c I have one for sale

I don't have time to ride since I started coaching and I play about 3-5 soccer games a week. Plus the main reason is that I am trying to save money because I want to by a townhome/house next year.

I keep hearing that "saving money" reason for selling bikes. How much do they cost to ride?? If you pay it off all you have is insurance and that's not very expensive. So what am I overlooking? Besides regular maintenance I guess...

Glad to hear your still alive Vinh, you plan on taking up residence ou there for good, or for the time being ? I find used 6MT's all the time on Autotrader, in CA, of course none with the color and mileage specs that I want. Good luck with your searches.

It just seems like a money pit. If you buy it new then you want to buy all the mods, new exhaust, better tires, chain and sprockets. Then you buy your first helmet and jacket and then realize that you need/want a $600 dollar arai helmet then a new jacket and gloves to match, then boots. Then you decide that you want to go to the track so you buy a 1 piece full leather suit plus the cost of going and paying for the track days. After that you decide to do your own maintence so you buy front and rear stands plus the special tools that you need. Believe me, the list continues to go on and on but if your new to riding the first year or so you'll just be happy that you have the bike.

crap, I guess it's just like my car, there's always something else to buy. But I think you got it exactly right there, I just want a stock bike to cruise around on. I don't care what color my helmet is or what it's 1/4 mile time will be as long as I can ride it!

so Gixxster,
what would you suggest for a rear tire? I was thinking of ordering a Bridgestone BT010 or BT020? Sound good?
