I'm hoping to make it to Dallas Raceway Saturday if the schedule works out. If it does I plan on being there around 1:30.

Any guessing on what it'll run? I'm hoping everything is sound and I can run very low 14s . . . maybe even a 14.0ish . . .

If it doesn't I still have a few tweaks, so it should the next time I go.

I dunno good question. I would say a low 14 if not a high 13. Your car pulls pretty damn hard. I already struggle trying to get into 14.6 territory. I do not know if its my tires or clutch not liking me...Usually I run street pressure so that could be a big issue why lol. I can see if I will make it out there but it wont be till after 5 for me since I will be at work

Don't rush out there on my part . . . I have to be back by 6pm the latest so I won't be there long . . . hopefully long enough to get a few runs in and get enough feel and info to plan the next round of mods.

You know, if you ever need an intern or just a guy to lug around your tools on trips like a caddy, my door is always open.

Had fun blazing down the track a bunch, but other than that it was a bit somber. I ran several 14.2s and several 98mph+ and even one 99mph trap. I kept playing with it and wasn't happy with the 0-60' . . times weren't bad, but the car seemed a bit sluggish/fall over until about 30ish.

Anyway, will post times and details when I have more time . . . gotta run.

Here's a quick summary of my times at Dallas Raceway on Saturday. The first run was when I came off the highway, no one in line anywhere so I did my first run within about 5mins.

The staging area was just laid with some guy with huge drag slicks so I got a quick chirp and was off without any wheel spin. I was also testing out my new drag radials, so that help with the launch a bit. However my previous 60' with regular tires and at the Texas Motorplex were in the 2.22 - 2.37 range. So while the drag radials improved the 60' times about 1/10th, I think they caused the car to fall off some in the 330' range. I know on the street the car felt stronger on the lowend with the regular tires verses the drag radials. I'll take both next time and see what the differences are. I know a small amount of wheel spin helps get the engine power up quicker, so that may well be the case here.

Overall my average 1/4 times were up 3/10ths over the last time. And I've got a rebuilt tranny, so there could be something there. I ran mostly agains SS Cobalts and Mustang GTs . . most were modded. I beat some of the Cobalts and almost got me a Mustang GT as I killed him off the line. He ran me down at the last 50' or so . . . his time was a 12.61, so in a street race I would have taken him to 80mph or so. This is why I tell some of the other forum guys why a TLS with a better driver can in fact beat a Mustang GT on the street.

Anyway, I didn't have the full ram-air setup, so that and a few more mods should get me to the 14.0s and with a few more after that it's in to the 13s.

Best Run - was the 1st run.
Time 3:25 PM
60' 2.169
330' 6.063
1/8 mile 9.205
MPH 77.04
1000' 11.922
1/4 mile 14.205
MPH 96.85

The corrected Density Altitude corrected time was 14.026 @98.10mph, so I guess I got my 14.0 in a sense.

Average of 9 Runs
60' 2.211
330' 6.113
1/8 mile 9.26
MPH 77.05
1000' 11.981
1/4 mile 14.266
MPH 97.37

I couldn't find one of the tubes connecting the top and bottom pieces. I had it apart when I had the tranny out and couldn't find it . . dang memory, either that or one of the kids played with it.

Nice to see some pics of a 2nd gen TL once in a while. Ever thought of a white interior? Just thinking since I have a 2nd gen WDP TLS with black interior.

I'll check the Saturday schedule . . . I might be able to work something out.

In the meantime I wanted to check somethings out after the track and see what I could find out, so here's what I've come up with so far.

1) drag radials were more than 1 1/2 lbs heavier
2) after a few test runs today I'm pretty sure the drag radial hurt more than helped. Butt dyno says the car was more responsive off the line than the drag radials. Engine sound seemed better with street tires. The 60' times with the drag radials were barely .05 seconds better than street tires.
3) My thinking is that the drag radials grab too much and the engine really doesn't have enough torque and that would cause the drop in power/acceleration in the 60' that I was feeling.

That with the ramair note fully functional I'm 99% certain a 14.1 or better is possible. I'll have to watch the schedule and weather and give it another shot.

It's not the manager. It's my department boss & the people in the office. See below.

It's all sorts of fucked up.

My office schedule says 12-5pm. In my department, it says 5-1:30pm. The hell is this crap....

Anyways, going in at 5AM, and telling them that's what time it says on my schedule. If something happens, I'll just start chewing out whoever the manager is about making multiple schedules for people & not giving any sort of notice. This shit gets us in trouble.

Not bad Mark. You will hit 14.0 soon enough. I went the easy way and got the S2000 to get my 14.0

Hey there everyone.. what are some reputable shops in DFW(preferably Dallas area) for installing parts on an '08 TL Type-S. Im not interested(lack of time) in installing the parts(intake, coilovers, brakes) myself. Thanks for your help.
