I need to work on a bmw today so couldnt make it...Resting all that alcohol since i fell asleep right after i posted that...Only reason I was up was because i couldnt breathe lol.

We really need to throw together a cruise this spring. After tonight (& hanging with a Mach 1 ), a cruise would be a great way to enjoy the cars.

Hey guys,

Can anyone on of you refer me to a place to get an inspection that will overlook my tinted windows? It's just off by 5% of the law but some places are anal about things and I'd rather not strip and retint. Thanks

lol thats where all the illegal inspections go. Not gonna be specific because I am not gonna throw anyone under the bus. THe problem is your not going to find much. Any tint on your windshield is unfortunately illegal in texas. The limit is like 25 % now for the front windows and whatever in the back.

I have 20% on the front two windows, nothing on the windshield, and 15% on everything else. When i got the tint, i was told 20% but it's been metered a few times ranging from 15% to 20%, but you can tell a difference between the front windows and rear windows.

I think Ethan was the one who told me this, but while state laws say the limit is 25%, the inspector can pass you as long as it's not under 20%.

Or something like that; one of those weird-loophole deals.

wow, i always thought it was 35% or more, but i stand corrected. Just confirmed the legal limit is 25% or higher.

It used to be 35% on the front windows until a few years back.

And I'm going through this same mess right now. The shop that I've taken my car to with the 15% tint for the last 3 years got busted a couple weeks ago, so now they're legal only lol. Still looking around.

Im a state inspector lol, but I will not pass anything illegal since I can get fined quite a bit and lose my job.

If the meter doesnt go under 19 you are good. This I know as fact.

They only care about the front windows. You could paint the fucking rear windows black if you want
