Hi everyone! Glad to see there's a nicely-sized Austin community. I just picked up an '05 TL and live in Tarrytown.
Can't make it to Houston this weekend because I have a bunch of stuff to take care of this weekend (never mind the TL mods: pedals, lights, and some audio research ), so when's the next Austin meetup?

I have a couple questions regarding getting some work done on my TL.
Does anyone recommend a place to get your alignment done? I know some shops (Firestone, etc.) offer a lifetime alignment deal, however I'm leery of some of those places but if you know of an honest, reliable shop please let me know.
I also have some hard water spots on my car that I can't get out and I was wondering if yall had any recommendations on places that can do something to get that off. I was suckered into getting a Genie Car Wash Groupon and thought they would be able to get it out, but they said my car would need some extensive detailing.
Recommendations for these shops/services in the Austin area would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

For detailing, try Refined Finish (.com) in Austin. He is a mobile service, did an amazing job on 2 of my cars and can take care of that for you. A bit pricey, but good 1-2 times a year to keep the car looking smooth.

Yes Rene is a great guy. He rolled my fenders and shaved the bumper tabs. He was going to do my RJ kit before I chickened out

For alignment or other mechanical or body, try Rebreu Austin, on Kramer Ln. Ask for Jim, extremely honest, fair and you'll be happy. He was recommended to me by another member here.

My friend had good results using AWRS, Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists.
http://www.awrswheelrepair.com/austin/
They operate in the back parking lot of BMW on McNeil, next to Mini. Turn on that street in between BMW/Mini and enter the back parking lot on left in BMW and you will see their mobile work van. They can take bends out, refinish, etc. I think he paid about $150 a rim or so...I dont know exactly. They took about 2-3 days, depending if it is a 2-3 piece rim that requires reassembly and new silicone, etc.

I talked to Wheel Technologies today,
http://www.wheeltechnologies.com/locations.asp
they have a north location and quoted me to refinish $150/wheel.....they seem reputable but want an additional $150/wheel for dissassembly.
Backing up, I bought a used set of 19" Volks GT-F's and 1 has some pretty gnarly road rash on the dish. The faces were also cheaply powdercoated. I want to fix the 1 wheel, refinish all the lips and possible get the faces powdercoated.
I'm contemplating trying to take them apart myself but i've never done it before, since its only a 2 peice there isn't any sealant I think.

Ugh don't know how to say this without sounding like a newb, but I just found this thread haha. Kinda new to the forums. Live in Austin and it's awesome to know that Austin DOES have aziners/acura modders haha. I thought everyone just lived in Houston/Dallas/SA.

so are you originally from Austin or did you just move here.
Like everybody else in the world.
#637
But I know what you mean about everyone else in the world, because I live just outside Lakeway (and no I'm not a rich punk kid, I live in Apache ha) and everyone is now here.
