I have windows xp and every time I click on compuserve it wont load up and it keeps saying not responding. It also wont let me uninstall it to reinstall a fresh copy...what do I do?


Also after a surge hit, my friends computer has been acting up funny, internet explorer keeps saying illegal operation and all other things arent working like they use to. Do you recommend just reinstalling the operaitng system and updating internet explorer.

 

Have you tried rebooting the machine and trying it again? First step on any Windows machine is to try rebooting first.

You might consider restoring back to a previous system restore point.
