Alright so 1 day I started using "Windows Messenger" and logged in with my hotmail account. I used it to talk to some haitians that are in my class group. I always sign out and then the next thing I notice im online. And they keep messaging me "hello", "where are you", blah blah. How do I stop this program from logging me in?

And when I try to close the program it says

"There are other applications currently using features provided by Windows Messenger. You must close these other applications before you can exit Windows Messenger. These apps may include Outlook, Outlook Express, MSN Explorer, and Internet Explorer.

I dont care if the program is running I just dont want it to always sign me on. ERRRR I dont even see any options in the program other then dont start with windows and some other crap.

 

The best way is to remove messenger

actually grey goose wanted me to tell you that you can probably stop it from starting on boot with

"start->run->msconfig"

and diasbale ?msmsgsss or wahtever.

if you got win 2k your out of luck tho.

get msn messenger 7.0 instead of windows messenger. same service, better program.

I tried trillian but the file transfer sucked. It only worked maybe 1 out of 5 for me. Anyone else have this problem?

 

its in the options within the programs. Just uncheck the box that says to log in when windows starts.
