Windows MCE and watching live TV

I got a Dell XPS Gen 4 w/ MCE and TV tuner card and was wondering if there was a way to watch live TV without the computer recording.

I'm hooking up to Qwest VDSL television which requires a set-top box (similar to if I was hooking it up to Dish Network or DirecTV. Well, when I watch live TV from MCE and I want to change the channel, there is a 2-3 second delay after pushing the remote button and seeing it reflected on the monitor. This is really annoying, is there a way to port it through realtime without recording?

I believe this has something to do w/ the tuner card rather than the fact that it is recording. I use a Hauppage Win-TV250 tuner card in my homemade MCE system and do not notice any delay when switching channels.
