Vista Bitch thread
People that have fucked computers and complain about Vista, don't really know what the hell they're doing. When it comes time to fixing the puter they make it even worse.
If the computer was built properly and/or set to specs...(i.e., like getting rid of all the preloaded garbage and have ample firewall/antivirus/spyware protection) there shouldn't be a problem.
Anybody complaining about Vista too much really don't know how to use the OP.
I rebuilt my computer from XP and XP components to Vista to work on Vista x86/x64 components. My computer has no bugs, no nothing.
I spent time and research to make sure my computer is up to specs.
Such as:
Intel E7400 2.8 Ghz overclocked to 3.67 Ghz
FSB overclocked to 1400 Mhz.
4 Gigs of Ram
Rosewill 550 watt 80 plus certified power supply.
Gigabyte G31 mobo
...and partridge in a pair tree.
People can shop for computers that will make Vista run correctly, but normally don't. If you are going to be a buyer on a budget and spend 400 bones at Best Buy...well, the shit storm is on you because you just bought a shitty computer.
I decided "not to be that guy." I have issues with people saying that Vista sucks for home use, when it really doesn't.

I agree it depends on hardware. I built a Vista system last year (C2D E8400, 2GB, 10k Raptor HDD) and it's been fine. I've had zero problems with it until SP2 a couple of months ago. I've had two BSODs while using the Media Center to view Netflix movies in the past month.
My mom's got Vista on her HP laptop. It's absolutely awful. Way too slow.

I have a buddy that works at Microsoft. They don't even use it at the company - they use Windows 7 (they get to use it long before the public - they are the "beta testers"). He says it's much better. Vista has taken such a beating they want to move out of it quickly. I personally haven't had any trouble with it, but it's my least favorite Windows version to date (I have quad-core, 4G RAM). There is a difference between user friendly and "thining it knows more about what you want than you do".
