Thanks for the suggestions and comments... this has been a monkey wrench day... b/c i left my usb charger at home... car charger is broke... and I took the battery out and nothing... once I get home, I will know whats really wrong... and I almost put one of my other phones on my bag last nite as a back up... LOL

do you use a touchstone?
sometimes if it's not just right it won't charge n you won't notice.
700p's were bastards. I upgraded mine to the 755 firmware and it was all good after that.

install preware.
there are small patches that will do just that.
I have a patch for fone calls and another for text.
it basically repeats the alert every 2 minutes until you dismiss it.

Around halloween the top left power button on my OG Pre stopped working. They gave me a refurbished phone and wouldn't you know last night the exact same problem occurred. I did the soft reset etc but still not functioning. It's annoying having to open the slider everytime I want to turn on the phone so am going to take it back to Sprint today and demand a new, and not refurbished phone.
Sprint replacement plan FTW!

Sprint has the best replacement plan. Well worth the $7/month to avoid headaches. I used to have Verizon and they allow two replacements/year and dropped my insurance pretty quick when I had my TREO's. That's when I moved to Sprint.

I think they've said sometime soon March???
Classics been pretty clunky since day one.
I have it for all the meaningfull applications like first aid apps and pretty much any app that's more than making fart sounds.
it does work very well with bike or diee2 and all my other games though. Clunky but well

F-ck, I use my speaker plug all the time in my Element to connect with the car stereo and with earpiece at home. Often after removing the plug, my phone only works in the speaker setting and not regular handset setting. So if I'm making a call, I can't hear sh-t unless I turn on speakerphone yet the person on the other line can hear me.
Super annoying.

Solution........
1.plug headphones or plug back in
2. open music app and play music
3 verify that music is coming out of headphone jack
4. stop music playing
5 after about 10 secs close music application
6 unplug cable/earphone
7. check to see if normal headset operation has resumed. (which it should)
Thats a known bug. Just follow those steps and you wont have that problem anymore.

LOL this is my 3rd Pre and it's happened on each one. I just go to device info and do a reset and it's all good. I'm sure it's because I use the headphone jack all the time.

Yea that's fine when I have a headset ready but the problem seems to manifest when I only have my phone LOL. I've even stuck in a cotton tip applicator with rubbing alcohol to clean the jack per the Pre forums to no avail. You're technique doesn't always work FYI.
#343
yeah that wont work if its a physical problem. only when the headphone glitch arises.
It used to happen to me when I was streaming music on my Pre via the headphone jack in the car. I'd get to wherever I needed to be and just disconnected the cord and went on my way. Then an hour later when I get a phone call I'd be like.. man!
then id have to find a headphone jack to solve the problem cause soft resets did nothing.

I texted a video to an iPhone and got a message back:

I hear it doesn't kill the battery all that much either. Interesting.
#358
for me battery is almost the same and heat has not been an issue at all.
The phone performs as it should and everything works so much better. Even the virtual keyboard patch now works pretty smooth.
yeah there's a 720mhz and 800mhz patch. There's a utube video on how to install and it's all over precentral.net.

phone sucks im getting rid of it im already on my 4th phone and they sent me the 4th one and it still does the same thing.. The front is loose my speaker went out twice when i slide it up the screen or keypad doesnt turn on.. When i hit the button to check the time the screen doesnt light up and u have to shake it for it to come on or give it a light tap. Im starting not to like sprint so im thinkin on goin to verizon but now gettin the palm pre through them either
#360
unfortunately sprint doesn't really refurbish them. They polish them up and send it back out.
take off the battery lid and look at the screw opposite the side of the camera, if there's a black sticker with "Palm" written in white on it the phone was never opened.
