I say SSD. The point of the things are to get away from spinning platters.

OS & data. The SSHD has 1TB disk & 6GB of SS memory. an algorithm puts the most used files on the SS drive.

The problem with the hybrids are they do two things good but nothing great.

I'd rather have one SSD thats great and one HDD thats good.

The new EVO 850s are pretty solid.

I heard a lot of people having issues with hybrid drives.

Dan,

If you don't want to fork out for a 512GB SSD or even a 1TB one, I would suggest a 256GB SSD for OS and programs and a 2-4TB spinning platter drive for your data. Just remap the MyDocs, MyPics, etc to a same-named folder on the larger spinning platter (if you even use those folders) and you are all set.

Fast OS and programs onthe SSD, loads of storage for cheap on the spinning platter drive.

"jack of all trades, king of none" comes to mind when it comes to hybrid drives.

I think they're more catered to laptops where you only have drive. If you can have two, I'd suggest what everyone else is saying. SSD for OS and a larger drive for the rest of the stuff (read:pr0n)
