Roaming Q

So I used my Tmobile G2 to navigate in upstate NY, heading to Patterson, NY. I have 516 as my local area code. When I was around Patterson I noticed my phone said roaming and the network said ATT. Do carriers still charge roaming?

Just a FYI if you have a nationwide plan you do not get roaming charges. If you do not have a nationwide plan you DO get roaming charges. Also if you go anywhere NEAR Canada or Mexico, you need to call T-mobile beforehand and let them know so they do not carge you for attaching to a Canadian or Mexican tower
