Opened new tab, took screenshot:

OK, noticed I put a custom value in about:config for [browser.newtab.url] and that is why the new tab is opening to google, as I want. I wonder if there is an easy way to control where the focus of the cursor is upon opening the new tab. Will have to look into add-ons to solve this one...

OK, I had [browser.newtab.url] set to "http://www.google.com." I changed it to "about:home" and now it brings up the FF default google home page with the cursor attention in the search box.
Problem solved...
What is strange though is that if I CTRL-click on the home page icon in FF, it opens www.google.com and sets the cursor active IN the google search box, as I want. Just not when I click the new tab button...

Just a quick recommendation on a program if you find yourself doing a lot of file copying.
I needed something that would CRC check the copy and also be fault tolerant (or at least tell me where the failure files were).
Have been using TeraCopy for a while now and I can honestly say that I would have paid for this program were it not free.
Nice progress window:

You can (I dont) integrate it with windows so it replaces the standard copy/paste, too.
Anyway, nice free tool similar but easier than something like robocopy.

Anyone bought software from Digisoft? http://www.digisoftstore.com
Well I also like Chrome OS
I've been using Red Hat on my work laptop for about a year and I like it.
Before I switch I would need to find a replacement for Time Machine and iPhoto/iMovie. Other than that I don't think there is much that I would miss? I know Linux doesn't play Netflix but I don't really watch much Netflix on my mac and I could dual boot Windows for that.
I bought a used Precision Workstation to run a Hyper-V lab. It's a really nice box. I was thinking of getting another one to run Linux with a dual monitor setup.

No issues with crashing at all. And as far as "slowness", not that I've noticed, but I'm not using any complicated macros or pivot charts, etc.... Running it on both my laptop and desktop (thanks, Technet!!).
.... speaking of Excel... has anyone ever attended any of the Fred Pryor seminars?
http://www.pryor.com/site/default.aspx
They have a 2-day Excel seminar for only $128.

Thanks. Any more detail?
Not to sound narcissistic but...
The FP stuff, just like any tech oriented classes I've ever taken, was underwhelming to me. Maybe for the very less informed they would be ok. But I'd think even a novice would feel the same at those. Lol.
But I'm a self-taught everything kind of guy.

Um...

I know a lot of people bitch, but I think I am going to try to find a install code for office 2010 based on a lot of the specific comments people made about functionality versus 2010.

I run it on two different computers and had no install or use issues whatsoever, so I think a lot of the issues in those reviews were self-inflicted...
Edit:
Same deal for the Office Pro 2013 1-star reviews, sounds like a bunch of clueless idiots to me:

nfn, I agree about the clueless users, but some of the specific complaints about changes to the excel interface, menus, etc concern me.
This install will be for a bookkeeper who is not the most modern computer user. Getting her to remote into my business is challenging enough, and I don't want to have her need to re-learn excel just for me.

The big issue with Office 2013 and probably why people complained about it (haven't read the reviews), is that it won't run on XP or Vista, which is about 40% of windows PCs. It also won't work with Exchange 2003 or older, we have clients that still run that and xp. So we've had to purchase office 2010 home and business a few times.
If you didn't know that before purchasing and opened the package to install it or downloaded the file you could be SOL

A lot of the actual usage complaints I read were specific to the "metro" style and stylings... And the lack of ability to change them. Also the moving of items in the menus for no apparent reason.
Did you actually read the 1-star reviews? Fucking hilarious. There are a bunch of idiots out there. And a sample of 401 is hardly a sizeable sample.
