New Apple Ipod Shuffle
I still have a 6gb mini but the battery is unreliable, sometimes after full charge it'll last like it should, other times I'm lucky to get 20 minutes.
Fact is, that it wouldn't matter who made this particular design the results would have been the same. A small no button player is a small no button player regardless of who slaps there name on it.
But go ahead and play the fanboy card, its all you whiners ever do.
but with THAT said... I recently bought a Shuffle (the gen before this one) off CL's and am loving it (cheap too)... I don't get all caught up with having to have 20,000 songs with me everywhere I go... My Nano died on my a couple months ago, and I was gettin' ready to run out and buy another one when I realized that the only time I listen to music with earphones is when I'm working out... and when I'm working out... it's only ONE kind of music... METAL (ol school and new), I don't need 20,000 songs, I don't need 2,000... I don't even need 200... I have like 50 (if that)... which is enough for my 2 hour workouts.... I clip it to my hat, the cord NEVER gets in my way... the battery life is excellent (though, I don't think I get 24 hours, as they claim, but it's enough).
I'll probably pick one of these new ones up, because it has the option to have different playlist (yes... I'll still need different playlists... "80's metal", "90's metal" etc... etc...)
my thoughts exactly...

sure, id love to shuffle through 4 GB of songs!
shuffles are only good for the gym. however, if youre like me, you are VERY selective over which song you want before you hop on a machine. the whole idea of bringing the shuffle to the gym is pretty counter-intuitive.

Will these headphones work with the iPhone? Kind of annoying listening to my phone on BART and having to constantly change the volume.
I think this is pretty cool. I just recently upgraded from my iPod Photo to an iPod Classis 120GB or something like that and I also got a free 4GB Nano from my job, that was pretty cool. I would get one of these if it had easier controls
I <3 my 16GB nano. Battery life is awesome, sequential songs are blended together which makes for a smoother transition, and sound quality is noticeably improved over my 1G nano. I inactivated the "shake" feature though, that was annoying when i would have the nano in my pocket and sit down from standing and it would switch songs.
so engadget has some photos of it

I'm tired of having to carry tons of CDs in my car!
