my phone is waterproof...

... really. it is...

my friends and i were wasted last night, somehow we got into throwing my phone around and my friend 'mistakenly' threw my lg6000 into the fishtank....

as wasted as we were, it took us about 30 seconds to get it out, no one wanted to stick their arm in. the phone didn't turn on at all for the first hour, but after that it turned on, but with a distorted display, like the display was all off-aligned. after drying the phone overnight near a heater, it works perfectly now... with the exception of water marks on the lcd... can't believe it survived. it wasnt the fact that i thought i was gonna have a dead phone, i just had so many phone numbers in there.... irreplaceable....

No cell phone is waterproof. A couple more minutes and your phone would have bought the farm, you got lucky.

Many people have dropped their phone into the toliet and it survived. You just have to dry it out before you turn it on again. And then there will be only a "chance" it will work.

A lot of phones are built well and are water resistant but you can't go swimming with any phone and expect it to survive.

<--- has dropped three pagers and one cell phone in the toilet over the years...about 50% survival here. Just a hazard of the job...

The summer before last I went SWIMMING with a color Sanyo in my pocket....

i was in the water a good 5 minutes before I realized i had the thing on me.

Well I let it dry out for a couple days and sure enough... good as new again. Continued to work perfectly from then until now.

my girl friends roomate spilled about 32oz of Hot Tea into my RUNNING Powerbook a couple of months ago.
It shut off right away, I lifted it up, and watched the tea pour out from the cd drive, pcmcia slot, battery compartment, and the keyboard. I was horrified!
I left it for a few hours, and tried to turn it on, lights flashed, then nothing. FUCK.

I went away for the weekend, and when I got back, the first thing I tried to do, was turn on the computer. it worked, the only thing I had to do, was reset the clock.

unreal, still can't believe it works.

my lg6000 has gone in the water twice
once in a swimming pool with me, and once in a cola in my car

both times the battery shorted itself and a little indicator on it turned pink but the phone itself still worked fine once I put in another battery......then went to verizon and told them the phone was acting up...so they replaced it both times

Hehe, so in the store, they're not looking at that "pink indicator?"

Why are they so stupid that they put the water sensor on the BATTERY ???
I’m sure they catch a lot of dishonest people that don’t know this, but as we see above it’s easy to fool them.

Hehe, on the Nokias and Sanyos, it's on both the phone and/or the battery.

But on the cheapo LG phones....
