I bought iMovie '11 for my MBP and then I just updated my mini server to 10.6.6 and downloaded it again fo free!
Now I can do my imovie stuff on a nice 27in screen! the minis got a slower processor but the screen is easily worth it!

iMovie is such a shit program. Probably the worst one apple has to offer...but it has improved with each version...its now somewhat usuable, and I have used it a bit...but still completely obnoxious and unintuitive vs. Final Cut Pro.
Actually yeah. In every other video editing program I've used the unedited video clips are at the top next to the playback window and the timeline is on the bottom, iMovie is backwards.
With imovie '11 I can get the video on my iPhone from within the program, I don't think I could do that with '09.

This needs to be fixed. The IOS devices make it pretty tough to accidentialy buy something, on the Mac store, its pretty easy.

Is there anyway in iOS to make it prompt every time I want to buy something? It only asks for my password the first time. After that it does not prompt.
It is pretty crazy that the free app smurf game is a top grosser. Lots of surprised parents finding $60 smurf berry purchases.

I don't like one-click, even on Amazon. The thing should at least give a popup saying "Hey, do you really want to buy this for $x.xx?!?" Especially since it looks like getting a refund from the app store is not an easy thing. I should be able to do a one-click return too!
When I hackintoshed I was able to install iLife from the grey disc on my hackintosh by changing a setting using multibeast that made my hackintosh look like a 2010 MBP which is what the disc was made to install on.
So I guess you could try running that but I guess that wouldn't work if you had to boot from the SL install disc.

I've never run the multibeast trick on an actual mac but IDK why it wouldn't work. I think it just edits a file that tells OS X what kind machine it's running on. So you use multibeast to set it to the Mac that the disc came with. If you run the install while your OS is booted up then it may work.
I'm not sure if the multibeast hack requires snow leopard to be already installed or not and IDK if the grey disc won't install because you're on Leopard (presumably).

If you need single layer check this out http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/...on-single.html
I haven't verified this on Snow Leopard but I did do this on Leopard a few years ago and had success.

Didn't even use a DVD. I got the torrent and extracted the dmg.
Formatted my 8 gig memory card to the journaled osx format and restored the dmg to the memory card.
Booted up holding the alt key and selected the memory card as the boot drive.
Install was done in 20 mins.
Thanks for the help fellas. Now I have to spend the rest of the day setting up my studio equipment. I forgot to save my template for using my MpC as a controller in logic :/

Anyone else notice anything weird after the font update that was just released this week?
My vmware fusion couldn't find the virtual machine files that I had. I had to delete and re-add them. Also, my Time Machine went apeshit saying that there were 38,000 new files to backup, over 70GB.
I repaired permissions afterwards and there were a decent amount of things that needed fixing.

Was just about to install that update. We'll see what/if issues arise...
What do you guys use to share media with Xbox 360? I have the connect 360 app, but the free version only allows you to share 100 songs.

Current Hackintosh:
Intel Core i7-870 Quad
GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4P LGA 1156 Intel P55
8 GB Gskill PC12800 RAM
OCZ Vertex 2 SATA SSD 100 GB (plus extra conventional drives)
ATI 5770
OSX thinks it is a Mac Pro, the important part is to use Gigabyte motherboards they have the fewest compatibility issues.

So I just noticed that my bootcamp partition is not showing up in the bootcamp assistant. It is listed in the disk utility, so it is there but I can't select it as the start up disk. Haven't used it in a bit, so I'm not sure where/when I "lost" it.
fixed permissions and now it's back. hweird
