IT: Local Admin Account on a 2003 R2 Domain Controller
Ok I'm working on a 2003 R2 Server that's running as a DC. The domain doesn't exist anymore or if it does it's not the controller. It has no need to be in the domain and I want to remove it fro the domain and back to a workgroup but I'll need a local admin account. Is this possible?
Basically it's an old POS that hasn't been used in a year and we're going to repurpose it as a TS. We were going to just wipe and reinstall but that's become a real pain in the ass since it won't boot from internal SCSI CD drive, it doesn't have any onboard IDE and if I connect an external CD drive to it's USB 1.1 ports it freezes during POST. We don't have any IDE add-on cards that fit it (PCI-X). So just cleaning up the current OS is the easiest way.

Nevermind dcpromo takes care of it. My boss was worried that it didn't so I didn't want to do it without knowing for sure.
