Just got this tracking software....

So I know where my drivers are at all times.....We can never tell where they are when they are out picking up cars. We connected it through Nextel, you log in online, it tracks them down and pinpoints where they are in a map, how far of a distance they've travelled, how fast they are going, etc.... So we know they aren't screwing around ..Best part is they don't even know we have the tracking on them....until we bust their ass!

Nice. Put it all up on a map overlay and get instant locations

hey... shoof.

just FYI...

did you know that it is illegal to track an employee without their knowledge?

they could sue you for just about all your worth were they to find out.

and i hear nextel isn't very good about hiding the fact that you have opted for their tracking system from employees

Your ass on the line not mine

I'm serious though, it is very easy for a employee to verify whether they are being tracked by Nextel.

Nextel is obligated to share that information with them should the employee inquire.

if you have even a half-witted employee who can call 1-800-NEXTEL... you could be setting yourself up for a serious ass frying

This software is a good year and half old...i went to the launch of it when it hit the ny metro area...it is a great idea..but needs to be done on a better network!

The GPS in the phone "should" work w/o the nextel service working though, I mean, my GPS in my car has little problem getting and keeping a signal, but my nextel can't keep a signal. In NYC the GPS would probably have issues with the tall buildings.

Does it actually use the GPS in the phone or just use the nextel service itself? If it uses the GPS they could just turn it off on their phone.
