Inexpensive (read cheap) laptop?

Wife wants a laptop. Since having surgery she does not like the desk in our home office. Email, online shopping, word processing, wireless capability; nothing that should need lots of processing power. I would also like it to come with windows 7. Suggestions?

I think that might be slightly difficult to find, although Dell permits you to order Windows 7 instead of Windows 8 on its laptops.

All but one of Costco's laptops include Windows 8, for example.

Go with an Asus, suckers are built with a lot of power and quality at a relatively cheap price compared to most others. I got one for $300ish at Best Buy where I work and have been happy with it for over a year now. Gets the job done and isn't questionable like some of my previous HP's and Dells.

Woot has been on a refurbished laptop binge lately. I got the GF an HP for $450 and I got a Toshiba for $380. Both have been running great.

You have to be patient and wait for them to show up, but they will.
