Question Images in Finder Window (OS X)

Hey guys,

Got another question about OS X for you guys.



As you can see in the image above, when I view a folder called "Backgrounds" that I created within my user accounts "Pictures" folder, some of the images I put in there have a nice white border around them, others do not. The images that do not, are images that I resized/resaved from Photoshop.

Why do some have the border and the ones I edited in Photoshop do not? Just curious about this subtle difference.

has to do with the exif info im sure. also, try removing the file extension.

Apparently this has to do with whether there is a thumbnail icon embedded within the image or whether the OS is creating the icon on the fly.

I did a google search last night, I shoulda known better and also searched the Apple discussion forums. Thanks dude!

I like how it makes the pictures look neat and tidy, but at the same time, I like what the OP in that thread had to say, it does make it difficult to look for pictures that don't have clean edges.
