Portable/Small Projectors
Portable/Small Projectors
So I'm shopping for a good portable projector and found this:

Anyone have any experience with it or know of a competitor?
BTW - This would be typically used in business settings.

50 lumens means you need a very dark room, and the resolution on that is pretty low. If you know you'll be in a conference room that can be darkened with a smaller audience, it'll work ok.
I'm a fan of short throw, bigger lumens setups so you can deal with more light and a bigger crowd. I have a Viewsonic PJD5351, the BenQ MP522ST is comparable - 768 resolution and 2000+ lumens, and you can usually set up with the projector at the screen end of a conference table and throw a decent size picture. They're very portable, but not micro/pico size.

yep.. pico projector = Cool Product - no application. Some assholes are trying to market them by putting them in a cell phone so you can watch movies while you're on a plane, their product is the size of a small brick though, battery sucks and someone just told them that most planes have VOD. My buddy is working on a project using a beagleboard as a dev board.. both are relatively cheap and if you develop a cool app for it, you could make money.
Crap - I might need to return it. I purchased the Dell item, but they have a 21-day return policy.
If it can't project in a decent room I'll have to get something else. That Viewsonic PJD5351 looks really good, but not as small as some of our execs would like. Then again they probably don't realize that essentially nothing in this micro size will be able to fulfill their desires.
