Home Phones with Bluetooth

After three years of dealing with the POS home phones that were purchased when I caved to my wifes nagging about price...We are both ready to replace them.

We purchased a V-tech set from Costco that just sucks. I told her it would suck and it did and it continues to do so. I do not like them, nor would I purchase anything else from this company. Its not so much that we've had any kind of reliability issues (though one satellite charger just died out of the blue.) I just dont like anything about the phone. The answering machine to the ergonomics all just blow.

So, I am interested in my trusty old company for handsets, Panasonic or possibly AT&T. I am curious about the the units which can be linked to your cellphone via bluetooth.

Anyone have any experience with them? The reviews are so mixed its hard to conclude anything.

I've had no experience with bluetooth home phones. Have been using Uniden phones for the last five or six years. Was going to by Panasonic, but my boss says he'll never buy another Panasonic phone.

Panasonic and Uniden are good. My parents have a Uniden cordless and a RadioShack (made by Uniden) that they've had for about 5-6 years with no problems. Before that we had a Panasonic cordless that lasted about 9-10 years until the buttons stopped working. Don't have any experience with bluetooth ones though.

yea we have a bunch of at least 10-15 year old panasonics that all finally stopped working only due to the battery not holding a charge anymore.

im sure if i got a replacement battery theyd still work.

I have this thing: http://www.smithgear.com/itc-bt.html

It works, however, call quality over bluetooth stinks. Wouldn't buy again.

I've been researching this for quite some time.. Panasonic and AT&T are so far the leading choices.... I'm waiting for a new technology to come out though... the way it works now, it rings on your cell first, and then your handsets will ring on the 2nd ring.

I havent looked at this in a few months, so hopefully you guys can shed some new light on this.. Thanks.
