Hewlett-Packard: TouchPad News and Discussion Thread
Here's an update from someone on SlickDeals regarding OnSale:
7/23 11:30AM EST: Just spent an hour on hold with onSale. According to the customer rep I spoke to, they exhausted their stock on Saturday. Apparently if a person called in on Saturday they would have price matched HP's new retail price. By the time the price change made it live, they were already OOS. My order was at 5:30PM EST on Sunday. He said if my order is going to be fulfilled, it will have to be from the second batch they are getting tomorrow. He said I would have to call back tomorrow to find out the status of my order. He said the company won't be sending emails.
Never mind, here is a more official update
Update About HP Touch Pads
by onSale on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 4:17pm
Dear Customers,
This is Robert Rich, President of OnSale. We appreciate your patience and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience related to unfulfilled orders for HP Touch Pads.
As a result of an unintended and unprecedented event, the dramatic price reduction in the discontinued HP Touch Pad which occurred over this past weekend, we received orders so quickly over a couple of hour period on Sunday that we were not able to properly process all of these orders.
At this time, we regret that we have determined we will not have sufficient clarity in a timely manner regarding additional availability of product to allow us to fill remaining unfulfilled orders. Unfortunately as a result, we are now cancelling unfulfilled orders and expect this process to be completed shortly. Customers whose orders are being canceled will receive a cancelation notice via e-mail. No credit cards have been charged for any unfulfilled orders.
Again, we are truly sorry for any inconvenience to customers and please accept our sincere apologies

Damnit definitely overpaid for the accessories now. I am debating on whether I should return my accessories since that order did say not able to be returned. Walmart.com has everything super cheap. Keyboard 29.99, Case 19.99, Stand 35.00 but is already sold out online.

Yeah HP SMB hasn't canceled mine either yet but I bet they will.
Personally I would just buy another tablet. $199 is about the limit for me for an oversized phone.
This is true. Amazing isn't it?

Key word. Yet.
