I didn't use any credit cards or pay for anything. Thanks for the suggestion though.

No, I wasn't looking at porn... Thanks for asking MW.

I have a Mac, but lately I've noticed when I'm surfing AZ I sometimes get popups. I have adblocker on and it doesn't happen on any other site, that must be where it's getting you guys.

gypsygirl, miz, everyone else. Please install the hosts file I posted in my software/tip of the week thread. It's simple. download the zip, extract it and run the mvps.bat file if in Vista/7 right-click and choose run as administrator. that's it, enjoy.

There's a new version that came out 9/02/09 so everyone else that's already running this hosts file you may want to update as well

So I swapped out my Hosts file and now every site I try to visit, I get re-directed to some Danish fanboy site where they idolize some dude in a pink button down shirt smoking a cigar with sunglasses on...

Seems right to me. What else would you want to see when you're looking at the best thing on the Internet?

It should be noted that said man is wearing his sunglasses at night!

Please forgive my ignorance, guys, but this sounds like Norton to me (which I already have).

Let me know if I should do it anyway.

Thanks

It's not the same as Norton at all. What it does is replace a file on your computer called "HOSTS", which the networking subsystem uses to try to resolve domain names (like "acurazine.com") to their IP address. This one redirects domains that it deems to be ad domains (like "doubleclick.net" or "googleads.com") to a bogus IP address so that your computer can't reach them.

I installed it on my laptop -- it works well. I do find the inclusion of googleads to be annoying because the sponsored links at the top of google searches don't work anymore with the file, but that's the only downside (and for many it won't be considered a downside) that I've found to it.

MS trying to do something about this type of thing.

http://www.internetnews.com/ec-news/...s+to+Court.htm

Microsoft on Friday said it has sued five so-called "malvertisers" in Seattle civil court as part of an effort to stop the practice of hiding malicious code in seemingly safe online ads that instead seek to prey on users.

My Avast was going nuts when I was in the "Just Body" thread about a week ago. Don't know if that has to do with anything.
