Hook it up, select the apps you want on it, and sync.

didnt work. not connecting. will have to try when I get home.

but, I don't have to get anything off of my old phone right? I mean, the Itunes store has a record of everything I bought, right? so it would only be a question of connecting to the store?

Doing it via iTunes where your old phone was backed up is the easiest way.

what you shouldve done was before selling your phone was do a backup of your 3GS to itunes.

then sell your 3GS

then buy iPHone 4

then conenct iphone4 and then during the setup process in itunes it'll let you sync your backup to it. and you'll be right where you were before in your 3GS.

and doing it that way, your apps will be intact, meaning if you had any games, you wouldnt be starting over from scratch.

are you on a different computer than where you setup your 3GS?
if so then you need to sign into your itunes account and then i think authorize the computer.

also if you goto the itunes store and then account and you can see your purchase history.

I tried that. I restored the GS data to the 4 on the same computer and none of the apps or settings came over.

Happened with me too. I've bought a few apps which I thought were really good and thought were worth the price at the AppStore. The next thing I know, they're nowhere to be found when I get my 3GS... I finally gave up and installed them thru Installous

Me thinks you can't downgrade if cydia doesn't have your shsh blobs in their server to sign your cracked ipsw...
