Got a Dell MP3 Player last week and its already DEAD

so pissed. first off, i got this Dell 5gb mp3 player for free to compensate for a problem i had with my dell laptop. and now this mp3 is broken, how ironic.

to make a long story short, ive been using the mp3 player for 6 days, and it froze up on me. i try to reset and do everything it suggests in the manual, but its permantely frozen. now i have to send it back to get a new one. im done with dell, this is pathetic. i dont here of ipods dying in one week.

has any one had a problem like this?

wait, he unfroze it the next day and it worked fine?

i keep unfreezing (resetting) mine and it asks me to format it, but then when its formatting it just freezes on that screen. ive been fucking around with it for like 4 days now.

i guess im just going to send it back.

I like my iRiver H320. I like it better than the iPods and have had ZERO problems with it (other than finding a good car charger).

Same thing happened to my iRiver iHP-120

Never got time to send it back and now my warranty is over

I guess in the end quality products like iPod's are the way to go

I used to have problems with this certain MP3 File, it worked fine in my Computer, but not in the player, so It would get stuck on the screen with the backlight on and everything, than I started doing this reset thing, which worked fine, but when I got back on the song it would do the same thing, than I removed the song and it still happened with another corrupt file or something and this time reseeting didnt do shit, and it just stayed on with the backlight and than the battery died and never turned back on

Have you tried going to a forum for your Iriver? There a lot of them for the Ipod and they always have answers for everyone. They even show you how to change the battery so you don't have to send it off to Apple.

Jaydef03 you should do they same. See if you can't find any help on forums so you don't have to send it back.

I used to not like the ipod too but after comparing it with all the others I think it is the easiest to use. Plus they have a tone of accessories for it.

Lung Fu Mo Shi I have a car charger for mine that’s also a FM transmitter. I can listen to it in my car and have it charge at the same time, best of both worlds.

Well, it worked for me. I can't guarantee that it won't smash your IRiver into peices.

i hate dell.

yes, i tried the dell DJ forums but didnt get much help. its just a bunch of middle school kids who told me that "if i show love to my DJ and pet it, it will love me back and start working"
honestly, i hate the fact that this little fuckers are even allowed to be on forums.

Well, everything has it's problems man. I have a few friends who have had multiple ipods as well (one of my friends is on his 4th). So don't put Apple up on some high pedestal.

And let me tell you Apple will NOT send you a free ipod if your ibook goes FUBAR. While dell has it's problems they usually take care of ya.

Kinda like that Dell 2005FPW 20.1" widescreen panel some people complain about. The Apple 20" shares the same LCD screen. They both have just as many problems... yet, people trash the dell one and praise the Apple one... it's funny...

I hope your new one works good and you got whatever it was fixed on your notebook.
