Cing 8125, Thoughts?

Hey, one of my friends got a blackberry for no reason and has an 8125 laying around. I am interested in this phone because I am a computer nerd and would love a pda/phone. What are your thoughts on this phone? How much would you pay for it (1 year old)?

I've never used it but looked up owner reviews of it for you - you can check them out on the link attached below. From what I've read it sounds like a good phone. Offer him 50 bucks. Hell, it's used Good luck!

He offered it for $200, which is around what is going for on ebay. Still, after checking out the 8525 I would rather put my $200 towards that, which is substantially more what I want. I was turned off by the lack of power of the 8125 when it comes to emulating nes games.

One annoying thing is that I can't figure out how to get windows mobile to connect to wireless networks with hidden ssid's (my campus network).

The 8125 is a decent phone when overclocked to 240 MHz but I wouldn't condone it cause you can brick your phone. Python, go to your school's helpdesk office and they should be able to help you out. I have used an 8125, 8525, TyTN and MDA (T-Mobile equivalent of the 8125). It just depends on how much power you are seeking. The 8525 is amazing...there is a rumor that there is a 3G camera tucked behind the casing. Refer to picks of the TyTN to the 8525 and you'll see what I'm talking about. Best of luck in your selection... (I'm taking myself off this board)

I have the 8125, planning on getting the 8525 any time now...Two complaints about the 8125, the processor is slow as shit (also tends to freeze-forcing a reset) and the internet sucks ass (slower than slow). The 8525 solves both of those problems.
