Chrome browser is sluggish all of a sudden
Anybody have any insight in this? All of a sudden my Google Chrome browser on my netbook became really sluggish. Youtube videos are all choppy, when scrolling down the page it will lock up for a few seconds then unfreeze, animated gifs don't play or if they do they go at 1 frame every 6 seconds. It just feels like all of a sudden I'm running it 32mb of RAM instead of the 1gb this thing has. Say I go into the Funny Pictures thread, it'll freeze every few seconds.
I did some Googling and some have suggested disabling all plugins and extensions but 1) Disabling everything didn't change anything and 2) I don't have a single extension installed.
Nothing's changed on my computer as all I use it for is web surfing and Excel. No process are hogging memory that I can see through the Task Manager. I'm using the most up to date browser on Windows Vista.
Cheers

Netbooks were a mistake, burn them with fire.
Other then that, you can uninstall Chrome, then look at app data in User folder and delete the chrome directory, then reinstall it. Chrome just updated to a new version, so maybe thats it. You can also try different builds (search for chrome builds)
But really, burn the netbook.
Same thing sort of with Chrome/Vista... the page looks like it has finished loading but it is a white screen. I click on another tab already open, then click back and the page is perfect.
I cleared out all my history and it seems to do a little better.

I'll try uninstalling it, and a different build. Thanks

I uninstalled Flash, Shockwave, and Java and the browser is now working 100% again. Chrome has Flash built in and I'll re-install Shockwave and Java as their required but most of the sites I've visited so far haven't needed them installed.
