Windows 7 on Macbook Pro
Windows 7 on Macbook Pro
I'm installing Windows 7 onto my 13" Macbook Pro with 750 GB hard drive and am planning on using Boot Camp. There's a few Windows only programs I'm going to use plus probably going to install a few Command and Conquer games. What size partition on the hard drive for Windows 7 do you recommend? This is my first foray into Windows on a Mac. I was thinking 250 gb - too much? not enough? Thoughts?
250 is way overkill for what you list. the OS will only take about 16-20 max, so 50GB should be plenty, assuming your use of Windows programs doesn't extend beyond what you've listed...
I'm trying to do the same thing, but i'm running into problems.
I have the iso of windows 7 on my hard drive, and i burn that image onto a dvd. Go through boot camp and partition the drive, click continue, and it says to insert the installation disc. Which i did. I dunno why it doesnt read it...
and 50-60 is more than enough

You can always resize the partition with a little work if you find that you need more or less space.
Speedemon, did you burn the create an installation disc from the ISO (extracted the contents to disc) or did you burn a disc with the ISO file on it?
does your DVD drive work with other discs? It's not unheard of for dust to get in those slot loading drives and screw them up even if you've never used them.
you can also use this tool to make guaranteed working bootable installation media from ISO: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/...usbdvd_dwnTool

I'm not exactly sure... I went to disk utility and burned the ISO image to the disk. I dunno if it did it properly cause it finished right away and the file was 3.74gb
but on the disk it showed that much space being used.
I'll try again later.
