Apple WWDC 2008
I'm not sure about the rounded back... I like the way mine lays flat. I can see this one wobbling around like an upside turtle when you set it down. Gonna scratch up the center of that plastic on the back too.
I guess you can always place it face down.

Thats a clever ad.... "the first phone to beat the iPhone". I don't know about the rounded back either, but I feel ripped now. I don't have 3G or the black plastic back or any of that.
Apple always does this... damn you Steve Jobs you clever businessman you

My plan with ATT is 450 minutes, unlimited web and data, and 1500 text messages. Comes out to about $72/month I think.

You're including surcharges and taxes, right? Because isn't the 450min. plan $59.99, and the 900min. plan is $79.99?
Any news around first gen. iPhone users being able to get a 3G for the subsidized rate? I'm thinking we should be able to given that the original buyers weren't subsidized on their purchase...

so with my phone i have right now, contract renewed at the end of december, is the 700minute family plan + unlimited text.
how much would it cost me to upgrade my phone to the 8gb iphone as well as any changes to the plan?
is it i just get the phone for $199 and then play the extra $20 a month to get the unlimited data?

Yep, I believe so. When you pick your plan you have all the same stuff available as with any other phone, but you also have to select one of the iPhone plans. The basic unlimited data plan is $20, and then there is a $30 plan (+1500 text) and I believe a $40 plan.

?? These are the plans from AT&T for the iPhone
EDT: Ahhh ok I see what you're doing. You're just using the basic 450 min. Talk plan and adding the $20 for unlimited data (for the iPhone in this case), and it's an additional $10/mo. for the 1500 txt msgs

Existing Customer Plans
If you're an existing AT&T wireless customer and you want to keep your current voice plan, you just need to add a data plan for iPhone. (This may replace your current data plan.) Data plans for iPhone give you Visual Voicemail, SMS Text Messaging bundles, and Unlimited Data, which includes both email and web, all for as little as $20.
You'll add a data plan for iPhone during the activation process.
