The announcement starts at 1pm ET 10am PT. We don't know much about it and there hasn't been too many rumors since everyone's been focused on the iPad this one has kindof flown under the radar. Current speculations are universal mailbox (sweet!), supposed way to sort of enable multi-tasking if only through a suspend task state instead of kill task so that you can switch back between apps and pickup where you left off. So instead of ending an app it's state gets paused and when you switch back to it it will be where you left it. This still wouldn't enable say pandora radio while surfing safari but you could switch between games and it would pause them when you weren't using them. Also there might be printing support for the iPad. I'll assume that stuff announced here will also come to the iPad but for a fee. Oh and I'd expect the iBook store on the iPhone.

 

I assume that if Apple enables multitasking on the iPhone it might look something like this
