Apple Watch has been very convenient for Apple Pay, most places I go to now have Apple Pay because of Covid and using my watch for Apple pay just requires a double click of the side button and hovering my wrist over the CC terminal, no need to take my phone out of my pocket.

This could be a huge quality of life improvement, I have a strong device password with alphanumeric characters so typing that in all the fucking time when I'm out in public is a real pain.

It wasn't working at first, it would timeout and request passcode but now it is working, we'll see...

2 months later and it still hasn't been released to the public. The unlock feature has gotten better over time and is really solid at this point, I even notice it unlocking in situations where I'm not wearing my mask, for better or worse, where my face is partially obscured by an object in between my phone and my face.

The face unlock is great.
One thing that I have had and still have issues with is the size of the phone and the position of the buttons. The way I hold it makes me always click both buttons and snap a picture.
That and a lot of typos because of the smaller keyboard.

Better turn off Airdrop for now until you know you’ll be using it.

I always assumed AirDrop was a point of vulnerability.
AirDrop is always off on my phone until someone tells me they want to share [pics] from their iPhone.

I usually left mine at "contacts only" since I always share between my computer.

14.5 is out.

You can also go into settings and set it so no apps track you so each app doesn't ask you, it defaults to not tracking

I like this new Apple that's been willing to add back things that they removed in the past that people liked. For example MBP keyboard, possibly mag safe and HDMI port.... now's they're bringing back the magnifying glass for text selection on iOS 15!

Interesting!
this is good for people that don’t want to update yet to the newest OS for whatever reason.
Particularly if a new OS severely slows down your device.

Software Updates
iOS now offers a choice between two software update versions in the Settings app. You can update to the latest version of iOS 15 as soon as it’s released for the latest features and most complete set of security updates. Or continue on iOS 14 and still get important security updates until you’re ready to upgrade to the next major version.Sanest Florida Man

I’m not really feeling this new safari. Still getting used to it, it think most won’t like it in its current state. Let’s see if they tweak the ui before official release.
seems like all the buttons I hit often are harder to access for not reasons that don’t seem worth it

Finally was able update my series 3 watch to WatchOS 7.
It’s a PITA to update because of the 8GB of space, I have to unpair it then update and then pair it with my phone. (This takes for ev verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
Anyways, WatchOS 7 feels a bit more snappier and more responsive. Pretty damn annoying they got rid of force touch thou

Interesting. So this means that the current MagSafe supports two way charging?
If you plug in a lightning cable to your phone, it was charge both your phone and the battery pack.
If you plug in the lightning cable to the MagSafe battery pack, it will charge the battery and then charge your phone at 15W.

So I just got this email and thought it was a scam at first.
Decided just to look it up and see if it's something real or not.

iOS 15 has almost completely backed away from the Safari redesign. You can now switch back to the address bar at the top with Beta 6 so it looks like iOS 14. Almost every update since Beta 1 has rolled back changes. B1 safari was terrible like Windows 8 hide the Start button replace with start screen bad. Glad they figured it out before launch. I think default is still tabs on the bottom but there's a way out and it's nowhere as bad as it used to be.

What's up with the Mail app that you can't collapse folders. Are you all using alternate email apps?

im probably going to upgrade my series 3 this year.
it really depends thou on what new feature the 7 will have.
if it’s lackluster and similar to the 6, then I may hold off for the series 8.
my 3 is still fine for me, but it’s annoying updating the software since it’s only 8GB. I don’t have anything installed and it has under 2GB free, so I have to restore it anytime I want to update the software.
