I hear people say that they want more than 720p, but does it really make a difference between 720p and 1080p if the screen is just 6.1"?
My Android will do 1440p, and it's frankly a useless exercise in specifications snobbery. In day to day practical consumption of media, it just doesn't make any difference. :-)

People (at Apple support sites) are reporting that AT&T voice support personnel are responding to requests for QR codes by asking what version iOS you have. If you admit you are on 12.1.1 beta, then they will facilitate your acquiring one of the blue SIM cards with the QR code, right up to and including calling the store to make sure that you can get one.
That's encouraging.
Looks like the mass release of eSIM QR codes will happen when there's an official GM of 12.1.1.

Ugh.. wanted an Apple Watch series 4, but the Black Friday sale on the 42mm series 3 GPS for $229 is super tempting.
The 44mm Series 4 GPS are $429. Are the newer features worth the extra $200 to me? Probably not

Instead of 1 Apple Watch 4, you can buy two 3's. 1 for each wrist.

If you've got the money to waste, well, go ahead. :-) It's not like you'll not like it or regret it.
If you're talking Series 2 v Series 4, then there will be a very noticeable difference.
I have a Series 3 and stepped back when I realized the only one that I was interested in was the gold/stainless _ Milanese. Just not worth it.
If you're on iCloud, Apple will give you an easy trade on your Series 3, just so you're aware. That's if you're willing to buy it from Apple.

I have a 1st generation Apple Watch. So either one would be a big upgrade.

If the air around you is only 1-2% helium that's enough to kill an iPhone for a few days. Just a heads up

Next time you're at a birthday party with a bunch of balloons and someone pops them and your iphone and Apple Watch stop working after a few minutes and won't turn on for days, that'll be why
Obviously an edge case scenario but just something to be aware of. It only affects devices with MEMs oscillators which are mostly Apple devices right now. Companies are switching to MEMs because they are much smaller than quartz oscillators and use less power.

XR came last Friday. Product red for myself and blue for the wife.
Love it so far, I thought I would have a hard time getting used to no home button. But, I actually like not having the home button. Battery life is decent. (for now) Charge night before and when I go to bed I'll be around 25% or so. I was on the phone for 4 hours in total yesterday.
My 7, I was charging 2-3 times a day.

FWIW, Verizon has the X for $400 off for Black Friday with statement credits over 24 months. My mom was going to get my brother an 8, but since the discount made them the same price she went with that.
Statement credits, fucking assholes!

So the iPhone X is in production again?
But we don't know what they're going to do with them?

Apparently they had to weigh the difference in cost between violating a contract for a certain number of OLED screens against the likelihood of diluting iPhone XS and XR sales, and they decided to just make more iPhone X again.
But...what are they going to do with them?

Probably for the Japan market. Or some other regional market. They've done this before.

The A11 is plenty strong enough to be a 2018 mainstream device. :-)

I'm getting this sneaking suspicion about the iPhone X production.
I can't help wondering whether this will turn out to be the real SE replacement/equivalent.

Apple will tell the Supreme Court that it can't be sued by iPhone users who say the App Store is a monopoly
A nearly decade-long battle over Apple's App Store is set to finally be argued before the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, setting up a high-stakes showdown over whether the company can be forced to pay damages to iPhone owners who say the App Store is an unlawful monopoly.
The iPhone owners who brought the suit allege that Apple's 30 percent commission on app sales amounts to price gouging passed on to consumers. iPhone owners can only buy apps through the App Store, unless they bypass Apple's rules by "jailbreaking" their phone, which modifies the iPhone's software so users can download apps outside the App Store. Jailbreaking an iPhone voids its warranty.
The case does not address the underlying monopoly issue, but instead will determine whether the iPhone users can bring the charge at all. Apple has argued that only app developers could bring such a suit.
The stakes of the Supreme Court battle are high. Experts say that if the court permits iPhone users to bring their suit, they could force the company to refund a percentage of every app sold over a four year period, possibly saddling the electronics giant with hundreds of millions of dollars in penalties.

I'm getting horrible LTE issues on my XS Max. Not a good experience. Have to stop and start cellular to get it working.

You might also want to check settings. I remember seeing a couple apps where I had background app refresh set to off, but after iOS 12 update (or maybe it was from app update?) it got turned back on.
