That's the thing... I am not going to switch, was just hoping that V would have a similar deal.
Will probably go to the Apple Store and trade in her 6 (16GB) for about $140 and then purchase an 8 (64GB)... Do they do in-store trade-ins for use on a right-then-purchase?
Also, V charges like $30 to change your device. Any reason I cannot simply buy the non carrier specific iPhone 8 from Apple and swap out the SIM card on my own for free?

They take the trade ins. Usually they dont give you as much as you can get privately, but a 16GB 6 wont get you too much more.
Target's offering $300 off iPhone 8/8+ if you port from TMobile to Verizon. Easiest thing to do would be to
- buy (1) prepaid TMobile SIM kit for $10 to get a TMobile phone # (SIM kit is activated by TMobile with new # automatically) : https://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/...IM-Starter-Kit
- buy (1) H2O SIM kit which can be had for $0.01 on Amazon, or have Best Buy price match
- Port TMobile number over to Verizon and activate new line of service with iPhone 8/8+ on DPP
- When you get home, pay off iPhone 8/8+ on Verizon since you're on DPP (Device Payment Plan).
- Suspend Verizon service: https://www.verizonwireless.com/supp...-service-faqs/
- Within 3 days, port out new Verizon line to H2O so you don't get charged for activation fee or monthly service plan fee : https://www.verizonwireless.com/one-...return-policy/
- Swap SIM from old phone into new iPhone 8/8+
- Sell iPhone 6 on Swappa, eBay, etc.
- . . . .
- Profit!

Do it. Such an improvement from the 6Plus. You'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier.

The "12:15 Bug"
ROFL.... I can't even....
If you've got it, switch your time zone when you manage to get control, and upgrade to 11.2 immediately.
If you don't have it, you should still upgrade to 11.2 immediately.

With support for 7.5W charging speeds, the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X will be able to charge more quickly over a wireless connection, and it appears 7.5W wireless charging speeds are faster than the speeds you get with the standard wired 5W power adapter.

Am I reading this wrong, or is it saying that the 5 and 7.5 charged at close to the same rate?
Using the Belkin charger that Apple sells, which does support 7.5W charging speeds, the iPhone X was charged from 46 to 66 percent over the course of thirty minutes.
The same iPhone charged from 46 percent to 60 percent over 30 minutes when using a wireless charging accessory that does not offer 7.5W charging speeds.

For the value the $19 iPad 12W charger is the best.
These damn iPhones really need to start shipping with the 12W charger
The 5W charger costs the same too! $19

Very helpful chart. Thanks.
I have two 29 w USB-C charges, which were quite cheap.
I've never timed them, but I can certainly testify that it's really quite speedy.
Meanwhile, the two Seneo wireless "fast" chargers really don't seem that fast at all. :-)

I really can't find the point of wireless charging other than if you're actually watching a video on your phone at the same time. You're wireless charger is probably somewhere near a TV/monitor anyways Mind you I have it for my S7 Edge.
