I was messing with this over the weekend. Just moving the camera slightly, left, right, up or down. And it's gone.

I'm using this slim Kays Case:
Amazon Amazon

It's pretty good, just one of those basic TPU cases. The back is slightly textured so it's not slippery but it also doesn't stick or collect lint. There's a little lip so it protects the front of the screen. Also comes with a screen protector but I don't think it's a very good one. Haven't put it on yet. The case doesn't add much bulk to the phone at all but feels like it would protect from a drop.

Waiting for Ivyskin to come out with their full body case. Here's a preview of what it's gonna look like.

Just now got purple but I was under my car (dark) and the surrounding area is bright from the white concrete, making bad conditions.

Purple fringing is not uncommon in the digital world especially in flares and super contrasty edges.

Its a sign of poor quality in the professional camera world, and its something you'll see mentioned in SEVERAL reviews of early model DLSR cameras and point and shoots from back in the day.

Fact is....its stupid to point your iphone or any sensor based camera straight into a bright light source...and the fact that fringing can occur is actually normal.

But you get a bunch of a fucking geeks on the internet with no clue and once again mountains get made of mole hills.

As technology progresses with the size of the chips and optics they are using, this will dissipate.

It happened to me again. This time on my home wifi. Something's definitely weird in iOS 6.

Okay so it may be common with low quality digital cameras, but why have I never come across this issue with any of my cell phone cameras? I've had to take pictures in bad lighting situations just like the examples given with no purple fringing. I don't think it's a big deal but the issue is there.

While I agree that its not a huge deal, I will say this. In all the digital cameras I have owned over the years, I never have seen this issue with any of them.

How many phones are using optics and sensors as small as the iPhone, pushing it to what the iphone does?

Appeals court reverses sales ban on Samsung smartphone

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court overturned a preliminary injunction banning the sale of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd's Galaxy Nexus smartphone on Thursday, sending the case back to a California court for reconsideration.

Apple had filed a lawsuit in February accusing Samsung of infringing eight patents, and had asked a California court to ban the sale of smartphones it said infringed on its patents. The lower court agreed.

But the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which had previously put a stay on the injunction, ruled that the district court in California "abused its discretion in entering an injunction."

You seriously think I'm like you??

Name one product or company I lick the butt of constantly regardless of any contrary and/or negative evidence presented before me, mercilessly defending it as if it were a child of mine. You can't, because I don't. I know no company or product is perfect and so I recognize the pros and cons of ANYTHING. I don't foolishly sit behind my computer batting away each and every negative comment that may come towards my beloved products in the name of preserving some false 'perfection'. That's really gotta take a toll on someone, to have to do that constantly, every day. When are you going to stop doing that? I'd even say it would be good for your health to quit. Less stress.

I would never say you are like me...I would never want the insult of that comparison.

So, posting about the specifics of purple fringing and how its not just an iphone thing is suddenly licking the butt of a company?

All companies have flaws and I have made my complaints against apple. But I do love the company and support it. You're going to sit here and act like a hypocrite when go in the photo forum and whine about close tested sensor results on your beloved Canon cameras (how many bodies do you have now? 3?)

Like I said: pot, kettle, black

You have really turned into a smug pretentious prick. Enjoy it.

For the record, Steve didn't bathe...licking his butt would be kinda gross. Just sayin'.

But, I wager Tim's is cleaner. So, I would recommend HIS butt if there is any licking...

OK I need advice: new 5 won't let me play tunes from a single artist, i.e.-I click The Who, pick an album and pick a song, hit play and then all hell breaks loose. The screen goes from the song I picked, to another song by another artist, to another artist to another and stops, not playing anything. WTF?
