And for some reason, it forgot the little weather icon/widget for a couple days. When I'd go into change the homescreen "At a Glance" settings, there were like 4 or 5 dipswitch settings, but no text describing what they were... just blank. And flipping them did nothing. They finally got that working this morning and my weather icon is back. But not loving the overall 12 experience. The pulldown notifications are garbage and I hate the new For Old People buttons.
Yeah, the new large buttons and notifications that have to be in bubbles so it makes them use less of the screen which means also showing you less is annoying. Why do I have to have the date and weather in that location? Why can't it be moved? Why did they remove the ability to set the system font and system icon color? The buttons that match your background are cool except they only work for Google Apps since they have not opened up that API yet if they ever will.
So complaint on android 12 as a whole. No being able to do anything about the calendar or weather in the top left is really annoying. If you want to use one of the new material widgets with the same info in it it doesn't remove that info from that spot so now its on the screen twice which bugs the hell out of me.
Yes, that weather/calendar "widget" is so stupid. And it's taking up valuable real estate. Not a big fan of the Material You design. No transparent widgets.
I really liked the old layout with the time, day, date, weather, and alarm front and center on the page. I used the hell out of all those elements as shortcuts to their respective apps.
The functionality is still there now, but it's all scatterbrained.
Download a new launcher? I run Nova Launcher and haven't noticed any of these issues. I couldn't even tell you what new features are part of the Pixel launcher
I always used a 3rd party launcher to get things just right... until I got a Pixel, and then there wasn't anything to change because they had their shit together.
Played with a 6 Pro and 6 at Best Buy yesterday. Wow Android 12 is terrible Deciding between 6 and 5a 5G. Trying to justify the $150.
At Target with the Red Card you get 5% off which is $30 for the 6. Eats up most of the taxes so the difference shrunk to ~$100. Pulled the trigger on a 6.
After using 12 for a few days, I'm starting to warm up to it. I've essentially "replaced" my main wallpaper with the Google Photo widget that randomly puts up your photos from Photo. Still bummed about the lack of customization overall though.
Saw one poll on an Android site where more people that got 12 liked it vs those who got it and didn't like it. A chunk of that poll was for those that haven't received it yet.
FYI those of you on Verizon save your self the hassle and buy the phone from Verizon. Google and Verizon screwed this up this year. Verizon has always had their own image but in the past all phones shipped with the stock Google image with an update you got on day one from the carrier to put their image on it. This year the Verizon phones shipped with the Verizon image the Google bought phones the standard global image. The global image phones will not update once put on Verizon. You have to go about sideloading the first update. Then after that everything will work. I am sure eventually they will find a solution for this for the masses but right now its the only way. That said I still have a hard time recommended buying locked boatloader phones from Verizon.
Got my 6 Pro on Saturday but haven't started using it and won't until my case gets here. Don't want to damage that awesome finish. Also, it's facking huge compared to the P5. I'm sure it's because I'm not used to the XL size like I used to be but still lol.
Anyone looking for the new fast wireless charging Pixel Stand it is now available for pre-order. Still waiting on my 10% store credit to show up though.
Finally got my case and what a difference. I didn't have trouble one handing the P6 even coming from a P3, but the added grip is even better. Still going to be extra careful. That's a lot of square footage to break.
It was a shocker compared to my P5 but after a few days I was used to it again. Now the P5 is tiny as hell
I went to send my P5 back for the trade in and had to power it up to reset it. Seemed like a kids toy after being on the P6 for a while now.
Also, I went with the Spigen thin fit case. It does cover the buttons but the cover bits are pretty thin and the buttons still clicky so it's good for now. I do want to find a case to leather wrap though...
Any feedback or other reviews from you Pixel 6 and 6 Pro early adopters? I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a 6 Pro this weekend as an upgrade to my now fairly long in the tooth Pixel 3 XL.

Works great, great camera, good battery life, no issues from me. Phone is gigantic though so find a case that suits your ability to hold it. I went about as slim as I could find.
It's a legitimate step up from a previous Pixel so it was a worthwhile upgrade. I'm not sure I'll get a P7 but it all depends on what the updates are.

Thanks for the feedback! I typically keep my phones at least three years, so it is unlikely I'll be in the market for a P7..., maybe a P9 or P10 (if the naming convention holds that long).
Regarding cases, I've been a fan of the Spigen cases for years now and will probably go for one of their new "Tough Armor" cases.
Wife got a P6 recently because her P3 "developed a cracked screen". JFC, the P6 is huge. She hates it and is talking about getting a 5a and handing the P6 down to me.
To keep her happy, I entirely encourage that idea and plan to then take the P6, put it back in the box, and stick it in a drawer some place because it's fucking gigantic and I don't want that.
I can't even imagine what the 6Pro is like. Might as well just stick a chromebook in your pocket.
Oh and the camera bar sticking out of the back of the phone is as terrible in person as I thought it looked in pictures. Stupidest design choice. Since the phone is already a boat anchor, they should have made it flat and used the additional volume for more battery. What's another lb or so between friends?
I'd strongly suggest checking the Subreddit r/GooglePixel. A lot of issues in the beginning reported. Google spits out monthly updates but sometimes not fast enough. I personally had issues with bluetooth connecting/disconnecting from one of their updates and had to go to developer options to correct. Right now the latest update reports that WiFi isn't working at all so I'm not yet updating. Many have been unhappy and left but some of that is more Android 12 vs the phone itself. Some have said the Pro wasn't worth the extra $ from the regular 6. I like my 6 but my 3 was less glitchy in its first year. I don't mind the size as I have a very grippy case. GET A CASE ASAP. Many were dropping them because it's so slippery. Pro tip: Check Target for the phone because you'll get 5% off the bat with the Redcard.

YMMV. I didn't mind the size but many did want something to compete with the iPhone 13 Pro. There are substantiated rumors that a mini version of the P6 is coming.

LOL, I'm old(ish) and like a larger phone; for me at least, since the 6 Pro is about a quarter of an inch taller than the 3XL and almost the exact same width, I'm not at all worried about the size.

The case I'm looking at, the Spigen Tough Armor case, flattens out the back as the camera bump is absorbed into the case.
This P6P is by far the best Android phone I have used. That isn't to say it is without bugs but I at least am not having most of the issues people are reporting.
Hey yall... been a while...wifey and I still have Note 10's...LOL
Not sure where to go from here bc I never became a super user, but with my new career move; I may need something lighter but more powerful.
Any recommendations?
