Samsung has given the middle finger to Google for quite some time. I'm calling it intentional.
Yet another reason to not get a Samsung.

At this point, since Moto has confirmed fingerprint scanners are coming, I'm waiting for the Moto X Pure 2016. As long as it doesn't experience setbacks in size or camera quality.

Just upgraded G3 to marshmallow. Nice improvements.

You mean it didn't break like a same modeled year Samsung?

Nope.

Nova Launcher Prime is .99 today. Bought it with my survey bucks to check it out.

Alright so my cheap smartphone crapped out (power button not working, it's an Alcatel OneTouch Fierce) after just 1 year. And until early 2015 I only had flip phones or a slide phone with physical keyboard (which I probably may try to find for a backup as I love the physical touch and the toughness of older phones)
And my work has funds for smartphone purchase so will be upgrading to a nice one. and I've never owned a "nice" smartphone and finally wanting to get into one that can actually last and has good features/camera/functional.
So here are the phones I've been looking at and my take on each. Let me know of any recommendations.
iPhone - never been huge fan of apple, not liking their proprietary charge cord/software, phone itself seems fine
Note 5 - stylus seems nice, no expandable SD or removable battery, nano-SIM?
Note 4 - preferred over Note 5 and my most favored one currently, expandable SD memory with removable battery and virtually same specs as Note 5
Nexus 6P - made by Huawei? what?
S6/7 - may go for S7 as it should bring back expanadable SD?, liking Note better....

6P is supposedly good but no expansion. I'm on my 2nd Note 4. Check slickdeals. They're going pretty cheap. Wayyy cheaper than S7 but not a huge OMG difference IMO.

Check out the Moto Pure X, I chose it over the 6P and have been loving it so far

$100 off the X through Thursday. Personally, I'm in this far, I can wait for 2016.

Moto X Pure for $300 16GB. Tempting but I'll wait a little more.

waiting to pre-order the Note 7... whenever that might be
Not going to get another edge plus ever again, it is completely useless gimmick that does more bad than good.

Anyone else having trouble with SmartLock?
I have two triggers set up to keep the phone unlocked, a Bluetooth device and a location (my home). The BT device work 100% of the time. The location works about 25-50% of the time.
Luckily, I use the BT device mainly when I am at home, but when I am at home and not using the earpiece and I open the phone only to find the patter unlock screen I want to kick a kitten.

Went to BestBuy to put my filthy mits on a Nexus 5x.
They didn't have it.
So, where can I hold this phone in person and cradle it in a warm embrace?

One of the worst aspects about the Nexus (Nexii?). BB only seems to stock in store the 16GB version, and only in specific stores.
I felt like going and getting something yesterday, but then I upgraded my Lumia 640 to Win 10 and that will satisfy me for at least a few days.

Didn't even know BB carried Nexus phones. Thought only T-Mo stores stocked them.

BB has them online, but I can't find one in an actual store in all of Phoenix...
I just want to hold it and caress it for a few minutes to decide if the size is right for me...

Check the store availability? The ones here in the Charlotte area all have an in-stock date of March 30th or 31st

Best Buy is selling the 64GB Moto X in black on eBay for the same price as the 16GB, and you can do store pickup.
Hmm, the white and blue combo is growing on me though.

My friend has a Nexus 6. Feels nice but most of the time it really depends on your case so regardless you're flying blind.

When I was deciding on my Note 4 or Nexus 6, T-Mo had the N6 to test out, without the bungee tether, at that.

Cool, thanks.
I will call a few stores and see if they have it
EDIT: MEH. Called and they said no TMobile has it, only online purchase...

I walked to the other side of town to try and hold a Nexus 6P and they didn't have one

I can't understand why I can't make a decision. I know I want and like the Moto software, but the style and fingerprint reader of the 6P keeps tempting me. I think it comes from getting something that is different: getting another Moto would be just like keeping the same phone I think my mind is telling me.

Apparently the 5x is basically the same dimension as the Sony Xperia Z5 (but lighter weight) so now all I need to do is find THAT phone and see how it feels...

Jesus tell me if you ever see a Sony in the wild. No carrier financing plan means only a hardcore dude will get one.
As for Moto, I've seen deals on slickdeals but the commenters are saying Moto has the shittiest customer service for filing RMA's on their defective phones. I'm thinking worse than Oppo
I was actually considering paying $350 for the 32GB Pure that's on sale but that scares me.

Guess it's the 6P then.

I would love to lose that argument because I love the specs of the Moto but typically Slickdealers are a small representation from the other forums.

I just need to decide if I buy it through Google and get Nexus Protect or anywhere else and a third party.

I'll likely avoid Sammy next go around. 2 of my phones barely lasted a year and my daughter's Tab took a dump

Welp, just ordered one off of AWD for $400. We'll see how it is when it gets here tomorrow. Did I say I was impulsive?

It's funny, your posts were what led me to the Pure X 2015 and away from the 6P. Love my Pure btw, no complaints at all. And you end up getting the 6P

In truth, I've been wavering for awhile. We'll see if I can live without the software enhancements.
