Hangouts is definitely the best messaging app. Whether it threads the sms together or not doesn't matter to me right now since there's like only 3 different threads i use on hangouts thats strictly hangouts right now.
But it def beats stock messaging app and go sms for speed, UI, etc.

Goodbye.
Are you using Swiftkey or the stock Android Keyboard?
I told Mike I might switch to the stock keyboard when it comes with the 4.4 update because of the bazillions of emoji
Google is making apps like GrooveIP useless in May 2014. It's sort of a big deal only if they don't get VOIP and Google Voice integrated into Hangouts by then. Sucks for GrooveIP and the like though.
I've realized that the larger bezel on the bottom of the phone bugs the heck out of me because of how asymmetrical it is compared to the top.

Its been there since hangouts came in that app only though. Stock keyboard is now getting emoji's built in so its everywhere.

What makes you think it is all Google's fault?
Verizon has to let people use unlocked phones on their network first, which they aren't.
And remember the new Nexus 7 — Google showed off Verizon support for the tablet when it was announced at I/O 2013, but the carrier said it wasn't a supported device and refused to activate the tablet after it launched. Verizon then quickly said it would be supported "soon," but we haven't heard anything since.
Who knows? But Google said that they are working with Verizon on some products in 2014... Verizon probably wanted a Nexus device with their branding and bloatware on it and Google might make them pay a ton of money for it.

Goodbye.
I'm using google's keyboard. I used swiftkey but for some reason i always switch back. I'm not much of an autocomplete person. I dont use the prediction stuff cause thats not my style of typing. I just type quickly. I tried to change it to use the predictions but theres just too much thought involved
Its been there since hangouts came in that app only though. Stock keyboard is now getting emoji's built in so its everywhere.

Actually emoji (it is both singular and plural) has been in the Android keyboard for a while now, but it took many steps to activate, and then use not seamlessly. The 4.4 keyboard makes it very easy and built in, so now you either long press the enter key or it automatically replaces the enter key in certain apps like Hangouts, etc...
I like SwiftKey because it lets me type so fast and yet doesn't misspell words (most of the time). I never use the prediction stuff, I use the rapid mode. The latest update is nice with the cloud prediction server and also I love the ability to read from my gmail and messages so that rare words I use aren't automatically autocorrected, but this latest update also seems to lag a bit which is annoying when I am typing at supersonic speed and either nothing appears or a ton of random letters appear in one giant clustercrap of a word.
p.s. Looks like Amazon just reduced the Moto X to $50 on contract. At this rate, people will be able to get the Moto X for free on contract before the 'free on contract Moto G' is announced

Goodbye.
And don't worry because the quick start guide included in the box will show you how and where with pictures, if you need more assurance. I forgot, but what was your previous/current phone?
Interesting tidbit: every OS update for all OSs across the board have always grown larger than their previous version. Android 4.4 is actually smaller in size than 4.3.

Needs more Lemon Pledge
Maybe I will get 4.2 on my Verizon RazrM now...
In Verizon land, "soon" = never.

Regarding keyboards, if you are shopping around, give touchpal X a shot. I have used it for years and is by far the fastest swype keyboard I have ever tried.

You can always use a paperclip as well. Thats what I did with my iPhone.
Thats interesting, reducing RAM is one thing, but I dunno how they did that when they added some more features into their apps. Now does that include the Google apps with the reduction? Or just AOSP?
Here

Did you not see that pic of an entire warehouse in Canada filled with Nexus 5?

So I was reading something that Ron put up, and its kinda obvious in the video above as well.
The new launcher is actually the google search app. Ran has a whole article that shows the nitty gritty stuff about his proof, but in this video when he long presses on the homescreen and then clicks settings it opens up a google now type settings.

Did you buy from the very first wave? If so check your email for a ship notification.

it shipped today, but since it's ground wont get here till thurs. I did not opt for 2nd day shipping, and it appeared that they prioritized those orders over regular ground.

i made the mistake of assuming it'd be coming from within CA.
And unless it comes monday morning at the office i wont be able to get it for the rest of the week. I'm literally stuck in anaheim for the rest of the week...sigh.

So Verizon finally pushed 4.3 to my S4. It says "supports Bluetooth LE" but nothing about Bluetooth 4.0. I assume they are the same?
#9513
Goodbye.
No, Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth 4.0 are not the same.
And lol @ ez12a. The people that have posted their orders here are not from the East Coast. Heck one is from your area-ish too
Google products have never shipped from CA. Ever. They always come from the warehouses in Louisville, KY.
Kit Kat update: I have won $20 in Google Play credit so far. Already made more money than what I paid for all the Kit Kat I bought, and I haven't even ate them all yet
