There was like a buddies app or favorites that you could put on a screen with faces and contacts. it came from your phone app. They sorta of have that in JB, but the pics are way smaller.

BTW on the email issue, I just deleted and started everything again, and all is well.

hmm i'm sorry I dunno the app, if it was a touchwiz app that was built in and if they modified it theres probably nothing you can do. Maybe try redoing the pics? However you would do that?

Because two of the peeps on that app are about dead. I know they will never call, but it's still nice to see their face on the screen.

I see they can still fill in the 8.1-9.9 range. They're really trying to cover every size or something and they say HTC makes too many devices. Lol.
With my Note 2 I can't imagine getting a bigger phone. I have a hard time hitting the opposite corner of my hand one handed without sliding the phone down my palm. Even with a rubbery case very risky. And what's with the internals on these phones? I guess they want the Note 2 to be the flagship big phone.

Have you tried unlinking/linking the contacts? Its been a while since I used TouchWiz and I remember that feature where they connect your contacts to your Social Networks so when they call you see their status updates and/or birthday.

I think the reason they went with mid-range specs is because they're testing the waters to see if it'll sell. If it does, I'm guessing we'll start seeing high end specs on those sizes in the future. I do have to say though the increased size is getting a little too much although everyone said the same thing the first time the Note and then the Note II came out and we all know how Samsung fared with those devices.

Anyone try the new Chat Heads on the Facebook Messenger update from today?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m9vay5vcmNhIl0.

It supposedly works for SMS as well so you don't even need to use Facebook for it. Some people are saying it pops up when you're gaming though so that might become annoying.

Facebook Home is supposed to launch some time today in the Play Store. I'm guessing they're letting people who bought the First today get some exclusivity on it.

Facebook Home APK available for download since its limited to certain devices at the moment:

http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/04...elect-devices/

Haven't reactivated my Facebook so I don't think it would do me any good if I installed it on my devices.

Holy Baloney! I just read one of the worst articles ever on an android phan site. Can't believe they let that even get published. It was basically a big time whining post by one of their writers who had a bit of bad luck capped off with a title that was worded purely for SEO purposes.

^link???

Yea I'm trying out fb chat heads right now. Hmm it would be interesting if I make that my primary text message, that would be pretty cool. I dont really play games on my phone as well. So it would be nice. One thing I remember though is that if you use Fb sms, they dont relate the names with that of your fb friends so no pics? Or do they, i dunno...

edit: nvm it does as long as the name is exactly the same

Unsurprisingly, it is now their most read and commented post in their 7 year history of existence. Must be nice to have all that SEO money for vacations.... or new phones.

Dropped my N4 out of my jacket pocket from 2nd story onto concrete patio below. It bounced/tumbled along upon impact...hitting all four corners which were protected by the play store bumper. No damage to phone itself. None. The bumper has several nicks in the grey painted plastic on the corners but the phone survived. All sensors work, mics and speakers work, wireless charging still works and the glass didn't break. I suppose I should consider myself lucky.

Did you go and buy a lottery ticket afterwards?! See, dropping a phone from a 2 stories high would be legitimate cause for a freak out lol.

I think this would be the video equivalent of Anandtech's review:

So as powerful as evernote is, I like keep better. For what I use it for, which is mostly checklists for different things I just like it better. Evernote is definitely more powerful, but for things I'm not going to even use.

I'm on the same boat as you too. I switched to Keep because I hated the layout of Evernote. It just seemed so bloated for the simple things that I need it for.

Yea you put it more clearly haha

Anyway, I installed a new kernel on my ROM since I wasn't happy with the battery life. So when fixing permissions I look down at the screen and see this. Barely got the screenshot in time. Its the first line. What do you think its for, especially since Tmobile is supposed to be releasing a new GS3 with LTE capability.

Its crazy the difference a kernel can make on battery life. I didn't even change anything other than lowering the min voltage to 184Mhz

3hr 44m screen on time, 4% battery left.

Before I was getting roughly 2hr 20m with whatever kernel the ROM used. Believed it was close to stock.

Speaking of battery this Note 2 one so far is badass. I only charge overnight. I use twitter, fb, instagram quite a bit at work. Listen to music on the way to work. Make a few calls. I'm usually good till like 9:00 when it turns yellow which is like 20% left.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaat?! That's really terrible battery life for the GS3. The heck were people complaining about the Nexus 4 battery life for?

Yeah I get around 2 and 30 screen on time on my Galaxy Nexus. I've been thinking of buying an extended battery but I'm also planning to get a new phone soon so it would be kinda pointless in getting one now. For now, I just carry my portable battery charger around when I know I'll be away from an outlet.

when I was still using my GNex, I ended up buying 3rd party batteries off eBay (that came with a wall charger). It was literally $12 or $13 shipped from HK or China. And they work fine. Though I don't think NFC works... but I don't ever us that feature anyway. The only downside was the painstaking long wait for the delivery. Well, that may or may not be the Canadian customs, they tend to take their time (at times). I still have them, if I was in California, I'd just give them to you

(the funny thing is, I just received the batteries when my gf ordered the N4 for my birthday With the N4, I bought a power bank)

Hmm... the recent rumours about the new Motorola Android phone line for people without giant hands sounds promising. I know a lot of non techie people don't want an Android phone because they think they are all giant. Thanks Samsung.

Phone makers need to stop increasing the screen size...

The 5.1" on the note seems nice....the 5.3 or 5.4" on the note 2 seems great as well because the overall size of the phone did not increase....

am not sure people are gonna buy a 6.2" screen phone, no matter if the screen was made out of titty material....I for one carry the phone in my pocket and the 6.2" screen would be getting into my pre-allocated private space....and jr will not approve and be very unhappy unless the screen was make of titty material....

that vicious circle doe

These phablets need to come with a very integrated earpiece for calls, voice commands, etc. to make them actually usable as a phone.

yup, I've been saying all along, as the size gets bigger, they should just throw in a BT ear piece. Why not? They are relatively cheap now. Yes, I know they still vary in quality, but still.

Bluetooth earpiece, or at least some sort of case that has an integrated bluetooth earpiece holder or something. I'm always losing those things, just so inconvenient to keep track of.

I honestly dont want a bigger phone, but if the next nexus or great android phone is I'll probably do it.

Easiest way around this for me is third party launcher where I just swipe down and the notification bar comes down. Without that I'd hate it more...

I believe HTC started to provide a smaller handset with their bigger devices in China. They were releasing a smaller handset with their bigger devices so for people who made a lot of phone calls, they used the smaller handset instead of the bigger device:
