I don't know, when I see a BSOD i usually can figure out exactly where the problem lies.

At least it gives me more information than when OSX crashes. Lovely grey screen with no information whatsoever.

You'd think that they'd at least let users know something is wrong by saying something like "There was an error blah blah blah" but that damn blank screen just makes you keep wondering if it's actually still doing something or is just frozen. And of course you're not suppose to shut the machine down if it's in the middle of updating something but how are you supposed to know.

What Macs have you guys worked on?

"You need to restart your computer." is pretty straightforward to me.

And OS X has a full-fledged *nix panic log which is viewable in the system profiler utility or directly in Library/Logs/panic.log

My mac just likes to freeze or stop paying attention to the mouse.

I hate how the BSOD gives an error code that tells you nothing about the actual error. Just freaking say what went wrong!

This is the second time I've seen you bring this up about your Mac. I don't see anything extraordinary about it, to be honest... I pretty much never turn off my PC laptop, and it's certainly gone for months and months without needing a reboot. Figure mine's also almost ten years old and has "issues"...

In my personal experience with Pc's this hasn't been the case. My old Pc based laptop would have to be restarted all the time for various reasons, and my desktop pc seems to need a restart about once a week. I guess I throw it around because I'm impressed with the significant reduction in restarts/Crtl+Alt+Del situations, I'm not going to say that don't happen on os x because they certainly do, but the frequency is so significantly reduced that when I find I need to "Force Quit" on my mac I usually have forgotten the key stroke required to achieve such a task.
