Damn, I saw he was shot yesterday but didn't realize he died until I read this.

Eight days before the attack someone pried open a front window, rifled through drawers and left a kitchen knife on a bed at Taylor's home, according to police.

Definitely wasn't a random shooting, though

Dont follow football but he was the same age as me definitely too young to die.
Looks like someone was trying to end his career.
As for being an asshole, meh. Plenty of pro sport players are assholes.

Would blood loss > Sean Taylor be more suiting?

There was obviously more to this than just a robbery but I will also say that this is why I am a gun owner and large dog owner

What's a machete gonna do against a gun? And I would've moved away for a while if someone broke into my house just to leave a knife on my bed. He had to know something like this was coming...

I'm with yall; something seems very fishy about the story. I'm not doubting it was a robbery attempt; it just seems a lot has been left out.

If he was Caribbean then a machete under his bed is like a shotgun in the pickup of a redneck, everyone has one on hand. Last time I went to Jamaica with my dad he kept one in the small of his back.

As for him fucking with the wrong people. Weird part is if he was in drugs or some other shit to get folks mad they wouldn't just shoot him in the leg. It looks like someone was just trying to end his career more then kill him.

I just ordered and received mine 1.5 weeks ago. He was playing so well, not being a showboat, etc, so he had become my favorite player.

I find it odd that whoever broke in previously left a knife on the bed.

From what i heard on ESPN his house was robbed previously and the intruders cut his phone lines before invading the house. You have to wonder about the security of his home and why he had a machete in his bedroom and not some other form of home protection that he could use to reach out and touch someone

It is possible Sean Taylor was not allowed to be in the possesion of a gun due to his plea agreement, hence the machete.

On another note, Michael Wilbon is being blasted around the web for what many feel to be insensitive comment towards Taylor. His words struck me as if he knew something about Taylor many did not.

Another child doesn't have a father. Sad.

Rest In Peace.

For those that are interested his Michael Wilbon's quote is below..

I know how I feel about Taylor, and this latest news isn't surprising in the least, not to me. Whether this incident is or isn't random, Taylor grew up in a violent world, embraced it, claimed it, loved to run in it and refused to divorce himself from it. He ain't the first and won't be the last. We have no idea what happened, or if what we know now will be revised later. It's sad, yes, but hardly surprising.

There's a ton of speculation about the details of his condition and the details of the incident, but this isn't a blog and we're not going to get into wild guessing and speculating here, though we will try and responsibly discuss other points of interest surrounding the latest strange episode relating to Taylor.

Again, I'm not the least bit surprised about the Taylor episode ... why would I be considering his history, even since he joined the Redskins?
