I don't know that you can call Owens a wussy. He played the whole game with a broken finger and didn't appear to tell anyone about it. Trying typing a sentence with a broken finger.

Prima donna? Yes. Asshole? Yes. Locker room cancer? Yes. Wussy? No. The guy shows up on Sunday.

The Vikings/Panthers announcers were idiots. They were crucifying Gamble for making that lateral on the punt return, completely assuming he did that on his own. The color guy (Maas) knows his lineman stuff, but that's it. They didn't understand clock management, penalty rules, any of that stuff. The play-by-play guy was a NASCAR announcer! Come on FOX, you can do better.

Dangit...I'm agreeing with you again.

But, partially...TO's quite well known for half-running his routes and/or just waving his hands at the ball if he's in one of his "moods".

Nothing to worry about. McDougle will fill that slot quite nicely.

Another installment of Gallo's column in ESPN.com...

The winner quotes ...

5. People are saying Chad Pennington can't throw a Hail Mary pass due to the fact that his heave at the end of regulation yesterday against the Patriots fell to the earth a good 20 yards short of the end zone. But I disagree. I define a Hail Mary as desperately heaving the ball as far as one possibly can in hopes of a miracle completion. That's what Pennington does on pretty much every pass attempt -- or at least the ones longer than four or five yards. So lay off the guy already.

16. The Texans say they drafted Mario Williams because they needed a dominant pass rusher to help slow down Peyton Manning, whom they face twice a year in the AFC South. Well, Williams had no sacks and just two tackles in his first game against the Colts. That sounds bad, but when you consider their No. 1 pick alternative, Reggie Bush, didn't have any tackles Sunday, it's clear the Texans made the right decision.
Whole article here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...e=gallo/060918

I think I officialy take back my statements about Rex Grossman not hacking it.........looks like he has a nice security blanket in Desmond Clark. And Berriman handled that one TD grab perfectly, what a stretch out.

here in SF in his last year he didn't want to get hurt and was not giving full effort,so the press called him "Alligator Arms ".

Well, to be realistic, I'll save my biased heaping of praise and Superbowl possibilities until after Week 4. Although, there's no doubt Grossman played well in both games so far, I want to see him take on the Vikes and Seahawks (two much better teams than Detroit or GB)...

And I can't believe Pollack is out for the season I hate seeing guys, especially young guys (on any team) lose a whole season/significant amount of time to injury. Such a waste...

come on guys factor in the rust, and the fact that it was a tough defense for a first game back.I'd be more concerned as to why Troy Palomalu doesn't seem to have the same intensity,he almost looked lost alot last night.

Newsline: Oakland

A buddy of mine sent me this:

OAKLAND, (CA)--Oakland Raiders football practice was delayed nearly two
hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery
substance on the practice field. Head coach Art Shell immediately
suspended practice and called the police and federal investigators.
After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the
white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed
after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the
substance again.

meh. let em go. They're trying soo hard..

Shoulder Injury He looked soft and I think I saw him blitz twice..

You could say rust but they still looked like shit either way and Jax looked damn good.

Hopefully they'll be ready for the more important divisional game against Cincy next week. IMO Ben had to start against Jax, Cincy is more important game then Jax. For those that say Ben shouldn't have started.
