NFL: 2017 Season and Discussion Thead

I'm up by 28 with Juju yet to play.
My only hope is that Foles shits the bed against a Raiders defense that's better than earlier in the season. But he also has Bell... I think he's going to be heavily featured with AB out. We should be worried
I have Gurley but my other RB and my TE got injured early in their games. FF Gods went in with no vaseline.

I'd be interested to know how many league champs had Gurley. Of the two in ours, one has Gurley, but only has to cover a 24 pt deficit with Foles, Hopkins, Ertz. Could be close if Foles blanks - you never know with these teams that have clinched. Resting starters is not a bad play....

In our league my friend had Gurley last year. This year same friend drafted both his team and his son's team who couldn't make it. My friend drafted Gurley for his son's team, son played his dad in the finals tonight, son won. That's gotta sting a little.

Gurley is definitely MVP for my first ever championship. Him and garbage time king Bortles (week 15 waiver replacement for McCown) accounted for 70 points combined in both playoff games (bye)
I really thought with all the injuries and performances of my players early on this week that I'd be getting a consolation prize. GF agreed that we could get a Nintendo Switch

Been such a great week for football. Went to the Niners game and stayed until the last second, even though it seemed like half the stadium emptied out. Met a great family of Jaguars fans.
Also the Packers get shut out, Cowboys eliminated from playoffs, Raiders lose to limp dick Nick. Not sure I could ask for more. If I didn't have plans I would fly down to LA and watch the Niners Rams game.

About Gurley: I randomly had Chris Johnson with the 2009 Titans when he went off for 2000 yards. He alone got me to third place and my money back. But he was back to his 2008 performance numbers the very next year after everyone’s expectations skyrocketed.
I’m not up to speed on what Gurley is doing, but it sure seems like you either have THIS year’s back or you don’t. Trying to strategize it could only be fooling yourself. It’s damn fun when you can land them though.

^^^^ I heard he was visiting in Foxboro today. Let's face it Pats could use some help @ the LB position with all the injuries for the playoff run. I don't see him being here post the playoffs. $0.02

My only reasoning for getting Gurley was he was best available with a new coach that was a great OC. Plus his name wasn't Fisher. Grabbed Gurley in the late 2nd round, he was the 10th RB selected. He had a solid rookie season but didn't expect him to blow up tbh.
No chance I win without Gurley. He's the only player I drafted that stayed on my roster all season, aside from Pittsburgh def. I lost the highest scoring WR and K to IR before the championship.
A lot of it was luck. Hadn't played fantasy for a few years, this time I had more free research tools at my disposal. Some guys panned out when it mattered.

Hard to see that guy go to the cheatingest team in the league, but he's washed up and we weren't using him. I don't understand why they waited to cut him till now, but hopefully we can prove James wrong if/when the time comes

Probably been mentioned before but Tony Romo is surprisingly great as a commentator. Gruden is good for the memes
What a great season it's been so far. I'm as happy as anyone can be with a 6-10 record. Last time I was this optimistic was when Harbaugh was hired.
The Seahawks, Raiders, Cowboys, Packers, all missed the playoffs

Carroll is on contract through the 2019 season - I doubt they do anything too drastic while he's still in charge. We got 9 wins with a ton of key injuries. We need an O-line and a kicker, a healthy defense, and I think we'd be a 12 win team. I think we're still too close to start over.
Of course our division now has a very good Rams team and I think SF will be very competitive as well. Arizona isn't exactly weak. Our division could be a very tough place to be next year.

Listening to the commentators yesterday it seems almost certain (to them anyway). Del Rio will probably land on his feet however.
I could not stand listening to Gruden as an announcer. A lot of times I'd have to just mute the TV and listen to something else if I was watching a game he was calling.

I feel that way about Romo. One of my friends mentioned it mid way through the season and it ruined my life. Romo says "I would do ....." "They should ......" about a billion times a game.
Dude you're not playing. Nobody cares what you would do in this situation on every play. Shut up

Don't sleep on the AFC South.
If Andrew Luck is fully healthy and gets a competent coach? Watson back too, unless teams adapt to him after this offseason.
Titans need to fire their coach too. Mularkey is HC purgatory, just like John Fox is. Just good enough to not get canned but won't win it all for you.
