Concussion, he woke up one day on Saturday or Sunday and told the coach he couldn't play.

btw Ray Rice is having one hell of a game! a lot of YAC on the receptions he's had.

Yes and no. I remember that game...and yes, 5 interceptions is -like. However, I also recall not ALL of the 5 were all his fault. Again, Cutler is not a perfect QB...he's prone to making some bone-headed throws, for sure. But, I still say he needs to have a better offense to work with before we indict him of all of his mistakes/flaws, that's all.

Give him a team like what Romo has in Dallas. Or heck, even though Rodgers has his head taken off as often as Cutler, at least his receivers on the Packers are a notch above what Chicago has.

It's a lost season. Let's see what Angelo (if he survives) can do. There is no 1st rounder (sent to Denver)...so, is it all lost...? I really hope not...esp. when Chicago finally seems to have a franchise-caliber QB.

I'll also agree and disagree.

There are times when he overthrew Knox and Hester, which are probably the two fastest guys on the team. Then others where he grossly underthrows it which results in an interception. He had a much better o-line in Denver and much better receivers as well, but he was also prone to mistakes.

I just looked at his numbers and so far this season there have only been two games when he hasn't thrown an INT. And he has 16 TD passes, compared to 20 INTs

I attribute that to him being a basketcase in the pocket. His timing is definitely off. He is paranoid he's going to get his head taken off...and he's paranoid his WR is not going to run a good route. Add that together...bad throw.

Am I trying to be a Cutler apologist? Nope...at least I hope not. I'm just not ready to give up all hope on him...that's all.

That's probably true. He just needs to work on the chemistry with his receivers and be less antsy in the pocket.

I'm not a Cutler hater or anything... but some people (not you or anyone else on here in particular) praised him like he was their savior. and Broncos fans were disappointed initially, but now they're saying good riddance. Just kneejerk reactions all around

Yeah, then we drafted Carson Palmer...

Well, I'm not really going to come in here and boast, or rip Yummy, because as I said a couple of weeks ago, it's hard to get excited about sweeping this terrible division. We haven't played a strong team in over a month now, but I do think the Viking's are getting better and better as the season progresses.

Interesting stat from yesterday's game - Chicago generated just TWO yards on only 12 plays the ENTIRE second half of the game. Tough to win with inefficiencies like that...

NFL 09 - Who should get the mvp award?

For me, it's between manning, chris johnson, and farve.

If chris johnson rush over 2000 yards, i gotta give it him. Besides manning already has three on his trophy case.

manning if he goes 16-0.

brees should be in the discussions too, especially if NO go undefeated. but i guess that's a testament to the year johnson and favre are having.

I agree. The effort he put into bringing his young receivers into the offense and what he's accomplishing on the field with them are really admirable feats. I hate the Colts with a passion, but I appreciate excellence and Peyton's got it.

I hate Peyton and the Colts, but there really isn't anyone else to give it to over him. But C Johnson, Brees, Farve, still could get it.

But you could say that for Favre as well. People damn near wrote off Rice and look what has happened, as well the rookie Harvin.

true. but there might be some that feel like favre is working off a better RB and line.

it becomes a circular argument.

Favre is a big part of our winning - no doubt - But he's behind a phenomenal O-line, with one of the best RB's in the game to divert attention, throwing to three potential all-star receivers, WHILE being supported by one of the best defenses in the league.

Manning, in my eyes, is doing more with less.

You can't say that Favre spent hours and hours teaching his receivers the offense. Manning spent the better part of his summer doing just that. He's going to make a great coach someday.

Favre also has one of the top running backs in the league behind him, a really solid O-line in front of him, and a ferocious defense to get him the ball back.

True, but the young WR's weren't put into action until starters went down during the season. So I'm not sure about the work, he does that with all WR's.

I know his worth as coaching, Farve has done it with his two as well, maybe not as anal as Manning. I don't care either way. But I say Farve will win it, it's what the media wants. But there's still a month left...
